A growth market

■ Growth in the €23 billion European rental market resumed in 2014, reaching anestimated 2.8% after a generally flat 2013. The European Rental Association (ERA)forecasts it will grow by 3.6% in 2015.

■ North American equipment rental revenues are forecast to grow over 10% in2015 to US$45 billion. Rental penetration, as measured by ARA, continues to grow.

■ The Global equipment rental market is valued at around €70 billion, with totalspending on equipment by rental companies of around €20 billion a year.

■ Top 100 rental companies in the world (from IRN100 ranking) invested around€9 billion in equipment for their fleets in 2013. Diversification is a key trend, withinvestment targeting growth sectors in industrial markets, with products includingpower and compressed air.

The rental model is being exported around the world – rapid growth continues in Latin America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa – all areas where International Rental News (IRN) circulation is growing.
