Blinky’s  Random Thoughts

EVER WONDER...Why do super-

markets make the sick walk all the wayto the back of the store to get their pre-scriptions while healthy people can buycigarettes at the front? Why do people

order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke?

Why do banks leave vault doors open and then

chain the pens to the counters?

Why do we leave cars worth thousands of dol-

lars in our driveways and put our useless junk

in the garage?

Why does the sun lightens our hair, but darkens

our skin?

Why don’t you ever see the headline ‘Psychic

Wins Lottery’?

Why is ‘abbreviated’ such a long word?

Why is it that doctors and attorneys call what

they do ‘practice’?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor-

ing, and dish washing liquid made with real lem-ons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called

a broker?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic

called rush hour?

Why isn’t there mouse-flavored cat food?

Why didn’t Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal in-

 jections?

You know that indestructible black box that is

used on airplanes? Why don’t they make the

whole plane out of that stuff??

Why don’t sheep shrink when it rains?

Why are they called apartments when they areall stuck together?

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport

the terminal?

Jade  came to us after her previous guardian passed

away. She is a bit of a diva and would prefer not to have

to share the spotlight with anyone else. She has always

been an indoor cat and at 9 years old should not be

allowed outside. She can have her loving moments, and

her playful moments, but overall Jade is a fairly inde-

pendent cat. All she really needs to be happy is a comfortable bed tocurl up on and peace and quiet. If you think your home is jus t the place

for Jade to retire to please come by and pay her a visit!

Loretta came to SCAC because her previous guard-

ian could no longer care for her. She is a very ener-

getic, playful cat that gets along with people, dogs,

and some cats. Loretta is looking for a forever home

with someone who likes to play and won’t mind her

running around and speaking her mind. She has been

indoors her whole life and would like to be an indoor only cat. If Loretta

sounds like the girl for you please stop by and pay her a visit.

New Year came to us after been found running around

someone’s yard. We know he’s been someone’s pet

before though, because he is a wonderfully friendly

soul. He just loves getting pet, doesn’t mind being

picked up, and is incredibly gentile. He really could

use a new start, so if you think you’ve got space in

your home for an adorable, cuddly furry companion

like him come on down and visit him!

THESE ARE ACTUAL COM-PLAINTS RECEIVED BY “THO-MAS COOK VACATIONS” FROMDISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:1. “I think it should be explained in the

brochure that the local convenience store does not sell properbiscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.”2. “It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to closein the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’time â“ this should be banned.”3. “On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find thatalmost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food.”4. “We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told uswe had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed itwould be included in the price.”5. “The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everythingwhen we returned to our room.”6. “We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure.Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yel-low.”7. “They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. Itwas very distracting for my husband who just wanted to re-lax.”8. “No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The chil-dren were scared.”9. “Although the brochure said that there was a fully equippedkitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers.”10. “We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem wi th thetaxi drivers as they were all Spanish.”

Becauseof this, we were unaware of many things that would havemade our holiday more fun.”12. “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to En-gland. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”13. “I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to ourfriends’ three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller.”14. “The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the resort.’ We’retrainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us waitlonger for service.”15. “When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanishpeople there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food wasSpanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreign-ers.”16. “We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there wasno air-conditioning.”17. “It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy orunruly guests before we travel.”18. “I was bitten by a mosquito.
