Normally closed switch that is open due to an applied condition, and will close againwith a specific decrease in that condition.
The circle indicates that the component has screw terminals and a wire can be disconnected
from it.
No circle indicates that the wire cannot be disconnected from the component.
This indicates that the component has a wire connected to it that is connected to ground.
This indicates that the component does not have a wire connected to ground. It is grounded
by being fastened to the machine.

FUSE -A component inan electricalcircuit that will openthecircuit if toomuch current flowsthroughit.
REEDSWITCH-A switchwhose contacts arecontrolledby a magnet. A magnet closes thecontacts of anormally open reedswitch; it opens thecontacts of anormally closed reedswitch.
SENDER -A component that is usedwitha temperatureorpressuregauge. Thesender measures thetemperatureorpressure. Its resistancechanges togivean indicationtothegaugeof thetemperatureorpressure.
RELAY (MagneticSwitch) -A relay is anelectrical component that is activatedby electricity.
It has acoil that makes anelectromagnet whencurrent flowsthrough it. Theelectromagnet
canopenorclosethe switchpart of therelay.
CIRCUIT BREAKER(C/B) -A component inan electricalcircuit that willopenthecircuit if too
muchcurrent flows throughit. This does not destroy thecircuit breaker andit can bereset to
becomepart of thecircuit again.
SOLENOID -A solenoid is anelectrical component that is activatedby electricity. It has acoil
that makes anelectromagnet whencurrent flows throughit. The electromagnet canopenor
closeavalveor moveapieceof metalthat candowork.
