1. What is “worship”?

Worship is bringing pleasure to God- Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven

2. Why do we worship?

We worship God for everything He is and everything He’s done for us

“I will praise You forever for what You have done; in Your name I will hope, for Your name is good.” – Psalm 52:9

2. Why do we worship?

“For God so loved the world that He gave is one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” – John 3:16

3. Worship starts with a love relationship with God“Love the Lord your God with all

your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment” – Matthew 22:37-38

4. Anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship

Worship is far more than just musicWorship is far more than just

attending church serviceEvery activity can be transformed

into an act of worship when you do it for the praise, glory and pleasure of God


“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it for the glory of God” – 1 Corinthians 10:31


“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” – Colossians 3:23


“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me” – Matthew 25:40

5. We please God when we worship Him in Spirit

“Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” – Acts 2:38

“A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” – John 4:23-24

“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”- Psalm 42:5
