• Have students create their own teams and compete in lunch-time leagues at lunch. Volleyball, soccer, and basketball are the easiest sports for these leagues.
• Hold a March Madness 3 on 3 tourney during basketball season.
• Randomly select one student from each grade level each Friday morning. Call the names of those students out over the intercom while the bulletin is being read. If they happened to be dressed in school colors or are wearing school spirit apparel, they can rush down to the student store to get a free snack/prize before the bulletin ends.
• You can also use their names to call them out in rallies and instantly reward them in front of their peers.
• BIRTHDAYS- Have your attendance clerk to print out a list of student/teacher birthdays for each month. Recognize birthdays over the intercom and present each student with a card/lollipop on their birthday.
• • TEACHER OF THE WEEK- Create nomination sheets and
encourage students to nominate teachers for the Teacher of the Week award. Have your council select from the nominations each week. The selected teacher will have something said about them in the bulletin and can be given a gift (lanyard or Starbucks card).
• • STUDENT RECOGNITION BREAKFAST- Teachers nominate
students for Student of the Month, Coaches recognize Athletes of the Month, and students recognize teachers Teacher of the Week. Hold a breakfast each month to honor all of the nominees, their parents, and nominating teachers. Put together a slide show with student pictures and quotes from teachers. It’s a great way to recognize some who don’t usually get recognition.
• Ask students to come up with catchy 3 word phrases that advertise or inspire
