General Safety PrecautionsTo reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious injury or death when using your appliance, follow basic safety precau-tions, including the following:

• This oven must be properly installed and groundedby a qualified installer according to these instal-lation instructions prior to use. Dacoris not responsible for service required to correct afaulty installation. The owner is responsible to makesure this appliance is properly installed.

Do not use the door handle(s) to lift or move theoven.

• A minimum of two people are required to safelyinstall this appliance.

Power Supply RequirementsIt is the owner's responsibility to ensure that a licensedelectrician performs the installation of the electrical sup-ply for this appliance. The electrical installation, includ-ing minimum supply wire size, must comply with theNational Electric Code ANSI/NFPA 70 (latest revision)and local codes and ordinances.

• The correct voltage, frequency and amperage must besupplied to the appliance from a dedicated, grounded,single phase circuit that is protected by a properly sizedcircuit breaker or time-delay fuse. If a time-delay fuse isutilized, fuse both sides of the line (L1 and L2).

IMPORTANT

Locate the junction box so that the Oven may be easilydisconnected in the event that it needs to be removedfrom the WaI! completely for servicel

, if the oven is not installed level it may deliver poor orinconsistent baking results.

• A qualified technician must complete the installation of •this built-in appliance. Proper installation is the respon-sibility of the customer. •

Carefully check the location where the oven is to beinstalled. The oven should be placed for convenientaccess. Make certain that electrical power, meetingthe specifications on page 4, can be provided in theselected location.

Dacor recommends installing the electrical junction boxin the one of the locations shown.

Install the junction box in a location that allows theoven to be removed from the the cut out for service

without being disconnected.

Plan the installation so that all minimum clearancesare met or exceeded. Dimensions shown provide mini-mum clearances, unless otherwise noted. Be certainthat proper clearance is provided for the oven doorwhen it is in the open position according the ProductDimensions.

Cabinet cutout dimensions must be used as indicated.The specified minimum cabinet depth and width mustbe provided. The cabinet depth and width must com-pletely enclose the recessed portion of the oven.

All contact surfaces between the appliance and thecabinet must be solid and level.

Provide a platform within the cabinet to support theoven. It must be installed level and straight. The topedge of the platform must be flush with the cut out atthe front of the cabinet. There are no provisions to levelthe oven after it has been installed. 3/4" (1.9 cm) thickplywood is recommended.

Removing the Oven Door on ModelEORS136:

1. Open the door to its fully opened position.

WARNING

• If the electrical service provided does not meet theProduct Specifications (see page 4), do not proceedwith the installation. Call a licensed electrician to cor-rectly install the required wiring.

• Failure to disconnect power prior to installation mayresult in an electrical shock or fire hazard.

• Do not turn on power to the appliance until the oven isproperly grounded according to these instructions.

The installer must connect the ground terminal (orlead) on the appliance to a grounded, metallic, perma-nent wiring system or grounding conductor. Failure todo so may result in an electric shock hazard.

• Do not use an extension cord with this appliance. Suchuse may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.

• Do not install a fuse in the neutral or ground circuit. Afuse in the neutral or ground circuit may result in anelectric shock hazard.

• The appliance must be connected to the power supplywith copper wire only. The use of aluminum wire mayresult in unsatisfactory conditions.

1. Before proceeding, turn off power to the circuit to whichthe oven will be connected at the circuit breaker or fusebox.

2. Position the oven directly in front of the cabinet cut out.

3. Feed the appliance conduit into the electrical junctionbox and attach it using a UL approved strain relief.

4. Depending upon local codes, utilize one of three meth-ods to connect the appliance to the electrical power:

¢ Connect to a four wire electrical system

¢ Connect to a three wire electrical system, wherelocal codes permit

¢ Connect to a three wire electrical system withexternal ground, according to local codes.

Connecting to a Three Wire ElectricalSystem with External Ground - Where LocalCodes Permit

WARNING

• Do not ground the appliance to a gas supply pipe orhot water pipe.

• If connecting the ground wire to a grounded cold waterpipe, connect using a separate copper groundingwire (No. 10 minimum) and a clamp with an externalgrounding screw. Installing the Oven in the Cabinet

[_ WARNING

• Failure to properly install the mounting screws mayresult in movement or tipping of the oven during useresulting in personal injury.

• Do not blockthe oven air exhaust located at the bot-tom of the oven. Blocking the intake may result in afire hazard, cabinet damage or poor performance.

• The wall oven is heavy. Do not attempt to install it inthe cabinet with less than two people.

, Lift the wall oven up to the cabinet cut out, using theupper edge of the cavity opening and the bottom of theoven case side as gripping points. Be certain to take allnecessary safety precautions due to the weight of theappliance.

Resting the oven on the cabinet-mounting platform,slide the oven into the recessed area until the rear

edge of the oven frame is flush with the cabinet faceand the oven is centered within the cut out. Ensure that

the electrical conduit slides through the opening in thecabinet platform or coils above the oven chassis as theoven is slid into place. The cable must be placed intothe recessed area located along the rear vertical edgeof the oven or coiled above the oven chassis. Do not

trap the appliance cable between the oven case backand the rear wall.

Locate the mounting holes in the trim on both sidesof the oven. There are four (4) holes, two (2) on eachside, for single oven models and six (6) holes for dou-ble oven models.

Use a 1/16" drill bit to drill pilot holes in the cabinetthrough all of the trim mounting holes.

Install all of the provided #6 screws through the oventrim into the cabinet to secure the oven. Do not over-tighten the screws.

Installing the Exhaust GrillWith the oven secured to the cabinet, install the exhaustgrill by mounting it to the oven with the two (2) providedscrews.

Reinstalling the Oven Doors

Failure to fully rotate the hinge Catches will result in asafety hazard and may cause persona! injurY due to thedoor falling off its hinges. Also damage to the oven and!orimproper door alignment may occur.

On double ovensl install the top door first to reduCe thechance of damaging the lower door during installation.

1. Grasp the oven door on opposite sides and lift it untilthe door hinges are aligned with the openings in theoven frame.

2. Holding the door at about a 30° angle from the horizon-tal, slide the hinges into the openings until the bottomhinge arms drop fully into the hinge receptacles.

Reinstalling the Oven Door (Cont)To re-install the oven door on model EORS136:

WARNING

To avoid personal injury or damage to the door fromit falling off its hinges:

• Make sure that the notch on the bottom of each hingerests on top of the lower lip of each hinge receptaclebefore attempting to open the oven door.

• Rotate the hinge locks toward the front of the rangeimmediately after installation of the door.

1. Grasp the oven door on opposite sides and hold it at a15° angle from the front of the oven. Slide the hingesinto the hinge openings, resting the bottom of the hingearms on the hinge receptacles. Continue to hold thedoor at a 15° angle with one hand while pushing in oneach of the bottom corners of the door. Push until the

notch on the bottom of each hinge slips over the lowerlip of each hinge receptacle.

2. Lower the door to the fully opened position.

3. Rotate the two hinge locks toward the oven.

4. Slowly and carefully open and close the door complete-ly to ensure that it is properly installed.

Proper OperationFor stainless steel ovens, peel off the protective layerof plastic that covers the stainless steel surfaces.

Remove any packaging from inside the oven(s).

Slide the oven racks onto the supports inside the ovenchamber(s) according to the use and care manual.

Turn on power to the oven at the circuit breaker or fusebox.

5. Set the clock according to the use and care manual.

NOTE I

For double ovens , test oven operation for both the upper Iand lower ovens. I

6. Press the BAKE key on the control panel, The defaultbake temperature should appear on the display,

Press START. After approximately three (3) minutes,the lower heating element should glow red through theglass.

Press CANCEL/SECURE.

Press the BROIL key on the control panel. The defaultbroil temperature should appear on the display.

Press START. After approximately three (3) minutes,the upper heating element should glow red. On someovens the element is behind the glass panel on theceiling of the oven.

If the oven does not operate properly, follow thesetroubleshooting steps:

Verify that power is being supplied to the oven.

If power is being properly supplied, turn off power atthe circuit breaker or fuse box and check the electricalconnections.

Turn on power and repeat the above heating test.
