    What inspires Rena Wren to write and perform the music she does? Well in her

    own words mostly she is here for good friends, good will, and good music. To this

    Acoustic Goddess writing and performing is her first best destiny, but she is oh so

    business savvy too. Running her own merchandise and C.D. distribution network at

    www.renawren.com she and spouse Rodgey Roach co-founded the Spa City

    Songwriter Showcase in Hot Springs, Arkansas in August 2008. Through the

    showcase, Rena and Rodgey book songwriters from all over the world to perform at

    participating venues in Hot Springs, Little Rock, and Los Angeles. Rena is a self-

    professed Kind Ambassador. She recently and very excitedly launched a positivity

    project called We Are that she hopes will spread the kind word globally.

    Rena has been singing, playing and writing since age 10 and performing in live

    bands and theater since age 14. Her diverse influences include Merle Haggard,

    Johnny Cash, Indigo Girls, Cyndi Lauper, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Ella

    Fitzgerald, Dr. Hook, Billy Idol, Robert Plant, and Sting to name a few. Her musical

    interests include Rock, Bluegrass, Americana, Alternative, Country, Blues, Jazz,

    Country, Indie, Folk, and Musical Theater.

    Wren's unusually eclectic music background and organic approach to song

    writing from her "Soul's Earth", as she puts it. She adds depth, warmth,spontaneity and color to her dynamic repertoire of songs and her fans say she has

    something for everyone. I personally like her song Breakdown a whole lot and her

    Sweet Mystery Compact disc is really great through and through. Break Down"

    was reviewed by Debora Nortman, Vice President of API Music International, Inc.

    and Director of International Relations A-B-A-C-A Entertainment Group, who felt

    that Rena's voice and music were pleasant and enjoyable and found her lyrics

    interesting and thought provoking. In Debora's words and I quote: " Rena Wren is

    a wonderful, interesting, up-and-coming singer/songwriter!"

    Since assembling the new band, which includes Rena (guitar, banjo, ukelele,

    keyboard), Rodgey Roach (bass & vocals), Matt Stone (guitar, dobro, ukelele, lap

    steel, pedal steel, banjo, accordion, keyboard & mandolin), and David Bishop(drums).Rena likes call the style evolving folk-pop that holds hands on the left withbelting rock and on the right with smooth alternative funk. She recorded Sweet

    Mystery in Little Rock with Jason Tedford and Wolfman Studios and hit stores in

    November of 2009 and has been selling quite well.Ms. Wren Stated ;She is honored and humbled to announce that the Arkansas

    Arts Council has awarded her an Individual Artist Fellowship for creative

    excellence in Music Composition in folk music. This generous award will allow

    Rena and her band to complete her current CD project, Incognito Baby, in the

    coming months, again in co-operation at Wolfman Studios.. In the summer of 2011,

    Rena toured in Hollywood, playing a standing room only show in the Foundation

    Room at the legendary House of Blues on Sunset. She also performed at TheTalking Stick inVenice Beach, Kulaks Woodshed in North Hollywood, and abenefit for The Gentle Barn in Santa Clarita, CA.

    Locally Wren has performed at many venues in Little Rock such as: The Living

    Room, The Weekend Theater, Easy Street Piano Bar Cabaret Room, Markham

    Street Grill, Julie's Restaurant, Capis Resataurant, Hibernia, Khalils, Starving

    Artist Caf, Afrodesia Studio, The Public Theater, The WhiteWater Tavern, Sticky

    Fingerz, The Parrot Beach Cafe, and The Arts Scene. She has also performed in

    many venues in her home town of Hot Springs, such as Tbe Big Chill, and The Poets

    Loft to name a few, and many festivals and other venues in Alabama, Florida,

    Tennessee, North and South Carolina, and Oklahoma.

    Rena has been on many local radio shows on such stations as: 88.3 KABF Arkansas Showcase on 10/02/09, 105.9 KLAZ - Heidi's Midday Show on 9/04/09,

    101.9 The Rocket - The Unknown Legends Show performing live on 12/02/07 and

    9/07/08, and The Artist Spotlight Show - US 97 - Artist Spotlight Show Sponsored

    by Studio C Records 3/12, 3/13, 3/14, and 3/16/07.

    She also wonThe Jay Thomas Show Homegrown Song Contest on Sirius XMradio; signing a licensing deal with APM Music for 13 songs from her CD, "Sweet

    Mystery;" signed a digital record deal with Music Online Entertainment (MOLE);

    and is being included on Art of Noise Compilation Album for rising artists. Renas

    song, Random Matter was recently featured by a non-profit applicant for

    Toyotas 100 Cars for Good Campaign.. Other recent highlights include appearing

    on Good Morning Arkansas, being featured on Los Angeles radio show Indies in

    Motion with Rick Mizuno, and opening for the Paula Deen Live Cooking Show at

    Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas.

    Renas other interests include environmental issues, vegan living, and her

    songwriter showcase. She is vegan in a small town and enjoys writing for Chic

    Vegan (www.chicvegan.com) on topics of eco-friendly living, vegan cooking, fitness,

    and health.

    At the core, she is a simple girl and eternal optimist with a big heart who really

    just wants to spread loving kindness and the art of peaceful living far and wide. A

    sweet southern bell with integrity and wit, Ms. Wren is a true song writing word
