Update…

Reasons to Serve our Children

1. They were created to serve. (Ephesians 2:10)

2. Jesus modeled serving for us. (Mark 10:45)

3. Kids are the greatest mission field. (Matthew 9:37)

4 God blesses people who serve in children’s ministry.

(Matthew 10:42)

5 Jesus ministered to children. (Mark 10:13-15)

6 Easier to build boys than repair men.

7 Serving will help them get connected to other people. Service creates com-

munity.

8 God uses children to reach parents.

9 Serving bring glory to God. (1 Peter 4:11)

10 Kids are the most receptive to the Gospel.

11 Serving is a key component of spiritual growth. Growing Christians are serv-

ing Christians.

12 Kids need godly role models.

13 Kids can serve God for a lifetime when we disciple them.

14 We are called to pass on the faith to the next generation. (Psalm 78)

15 Serving helps kids and families discover new life in Christ.

16 Serving kids brings glory to God. (Matthew 5:14-16)

17 When you serve kids, you are serving Jesus. (Matthew 25:40)

18 God has given them gifts to be used for the furtherance of His kingdom.

19 It keeps you young at heart.

Members of our Sew & Sews are using their talents from Tampa to Hondu-

ras. Nursing homes and hospital patients are benefitting as they show their love of God and appreciation for the talents He has given them. This time some of them have made adorable children’s pillow cases and small “adoptable” monster pets for the children. See bulletin board for letter and picture from Shriners.

Today’s Message Spring Back to Life, #1

Spring Training: Back to Basics Introduction:

We are beginning a new series today that will cover three weeks this month on

Spring Back to Life. And we are going to deal with practical issues that we all deal

with during this time of year.

B. Let’s start with the basics, the fundamentals as we consider a "spiritual

spring training."

I. Spring Training is a Time to _____________

For Major Leaguers they have had a winter to think about other things and now

it’s time to refocus on baseball.

Many times we allow our minds to shift the focus off of God and that can prove

costly (Matthew 14:29-31; 2 Timothy 4:10; Luke 15; Matthew 6:33; Col. 3:1-2).

II. Spring Training is a Time to ____________

What do baseball players do to enhance their skills? They come together! The

team meets in a certain location and they work together as a team. Isn’t that

what God wants you and I to do? (1 Corinthians 11:18; Hebrews 10:25; Romans

12:4-5).

Our "spiritual skill set" needs to be refined in such a way that we are ready to face

what life can throw at us.

III. Spring Training is a Time to _____________

Each year MLB teams struggle through losing seasons and the chant, "Wait 'til

next year!" is frequently heard. Spring brings a fresh start for every player, team

and fan.

God offers that same fresh start for every human being (Romans 6:1-11; Acts

3:19).

Conclusion: A. You can have a fresh start today – come to Jesus!
