Remembrance Day
On Sunday, our captains were invited to take part in the town’s
Remembrance Day service held at the Cenotaph. Well done to Isla,
Darcy, Britney and other students who attended you did a fantastic
job representing DPPS.
This morning the whole school participated in our own
Remembrance Day with a small service held under the COLA.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Creative Catchment Kids
Last week the Opportunity Class lead by Mrs
Wood launched their latest book “A Tale of Two
Farmers”. They worked together with Mr
Toscan and Mr Tuohey to put together this
wonderful resource. The book can be viewed
online at www.envirostories.com.au
Creative Catchment Kids (CCK) aims to improve
engagement between communities and school
students across the Murray-Darling Basin. Their
programs provide opportunities for positive,
cooperative activities that encourage students to
learn about and respond to, natural resource
management and the importance of agricultural
production.
Enviro-Stories is a program that involves students
learning about their local area and passing this
knowledge on to others through storytelling.
