Relinquish's Wiki Page in an updated format. An updated addition, if you will. It also includes multiple, if not all fixes to grammar mistakes. There are a few notable changes, such as cutting out a bit of trivia that I found to be rather

Relinquish is a former member of the Jaegers, and is the current user ofKing's Grasp.

Relinquish hails from a small village with very little wealth, and social standing in the world. Is a former mercenary, farmer, and left his Grandmother's farm due to signing up for the Empire's reserve unit, and being drafted into the Jaegers.

Development

Relinquish is a character that has gone through many changes before the series official release. This includes changes to clothing, to having entirely different appearances, personality, and history.

At one point Relinquish was female, and was called "Huntress."Huntress was a member of Night Raid in her late teens that had pink hair, wielded Kings Grasp, and could not speak. Only being able to communicate through sign language, signals, and writing on a board with a marker she always carried with her. And most notably weared a mask with the same insignia that can now be seen on the current design of Kings Grasp, while never showing her face. Also, Huntress was in some way involved with Wave, the extent of the relationship the two characters would have had is unknown. This character was eventually reworked into Rodin.

Rodin was exactly like Relinquish in terms of personality and appearance, but had a different clothing design. He weared a long thin purple coat. A black shirt, brown belt, gray pants, similar to Wave's, and brown boots. He also had a 'signature' piece of clothing. A long black scarf that flowed in the wind. This design was one of the reasons Rodin was scrapped, his clothing does not match the hot weather of the Capital, and does not really make sense until the time skip where it is seemingly winter. Relinquish eventually came the result of Rodin, but the character would not disappear completely. Rodin was reworked intoRelinquish and Kurome's daughter in the future, Orianna.

Relinquish is presented as a character that is made to be sympathetic to readers, but also dislikable. He is a character that has created an abyss, a void of darkness to not just escape and run from pain, but to be beyond the concept of pain itself. He has lost himself, who he was in the dark, giving into it to cope. Letting it control him. But in reality has not completely lost all of his sanity, simply needing a beam of light to shine through the darkness, and save him from the insanity that he himself created. In many respects, Relinquish's story throughout the series is meant to be one of redemption from the madness that he created out of the fear of pain and defeat, as well as discovering the value of life.

Kings Grasp is also a Teigu that has gone through a great deal of changes before becoming the Teigu we know today. One of its first original concepts was being two gloves that a user wields. Afterwards they can make their finger's imitate a gun, much like a child. When pulling the fictional trigger, they would release bullets of energy from their fingertips. Another concept after this was having the ability to shoot, and control ten 'spears' of light by using the fingertips. Each finger tip controlled 1 ray of light. These spears could deal extreme

damage, but took a great deal of power and multi tasking ability to control.

Kings Grasp started to fully develop with its last design before the current one. The user could harden different parts of their body, and have them clad in demonic armor. Dealing massive damage with punches and kicks. This was the version of Kings Grasp Huntress used. This Teigu was reworked into becoming the current Kings Grasp, and the concept itself was turned into another ability Relinquish possesses inthe future after him and Kurome have their child—Hell Manifest.

Kings Grasp is meant to be a built from the ground up as jack of all trades, and "twisted" as well as corrupted version of other Teigu in the series. One can see the connections when looked at more closely. Examples include but are not limited to:

.Hellfire Touch- Rubicante: Hellfire Touch is very similar to Rubicante's flames, and are arguably stronger because they never stop burning.

.Kings Arsenal- Judgement Of The Ten Heavenly Kings: Kings Arsenal variety of weaponry is inspired by Judgement Of The Ten Heavenly Kings.They even both share the title "King" in their names.

.Hell's Champion- Grand Chariot & Incursio: Hell's Champion is meant to complete the 'trinity' of Danger Beast crafted from Tyrants. It is far stronger than Grand Chariot, and is on par with Tatsumi and Incursio's level of strength, potentially stronger. It can also be noted that Kings Grasp does indeed 'evolve' along with the user as they get stronger. As youcan see visible changes to the limbs and weaponry. Similar to Incursio.

.Creativity- Cross Tail: Much like Cross Tail, it is stated that a user who is truly creative will work best with Kings Grasp due to the potentially limitless combinations of attacks the user can combine with other base abilities. And even create new ones entirely. Relinquish is a prime exampleof this.

.Hell's Champion- Pumpkin: In certain ways Pumpkin and Kings Grasp are similar. For one in order to use Kings Grasp Trump Card you must strive for something more than anything, which is something fueled by emotion and passion. Kings Grasp also works best with users who want to achieve and grasp something. Even if they don't know what it is yet, as long as they are determined they are compatible.

.Eyes Of The Beast- Spectator: Eyes Of The Beast is a slightly less powerful version of Spectator. Even though it is weaker, Kings Grasp has the advantage of having literally dozens of other abilities at its disposal.

.Kings Flight- Mastema: Kings Flight is clearly very similar to Mastema. But flies 25% slower.

.Original Trump Card- Yatsufusa: Kings Grasp original Trump Card, before it was changed, gave the user the ability to summon creatures called "Demons" and "Devils" on par with extremely powerful Danger Beast. This idea was casted aside, and instead was changed into Hell's Champion. This original Trump Card was called "Sire Of The King".

Appearance

(Relinquish's eye color when not using Eyes Of The Beast)

Relinquish is a young man with dark brown eyes, and who has short black hair that is almost always seen brushed down. In his

debut appearance, Relinquish wore a black leather jacket with a green flame on the back of it. Black jeans, black boots, a black belt,along with a simple green shirt that he wore underneath this jacket.Relinquish also almost always wears Kings Grasp. Which are a pair of two black gloves with a red insignia in the middle of both of them, also acting as his Teigu.

After the events of Kyoroch Relinquish's appearance drastically changes. Relinquish now wears a long thin black and blue coat thatfalls to the length of his knees. This coat has exactly 8 grey metal buttons. 4 being on each side of the coat. While most of the coat is black, the tip of the sleeves that are cut off slightly farther than his elbows (A.K.A the sleeve loop) are blue. The sleeves being cut allows for the section of his wrist in between his gloves and his elbows to be visible. This coat has the Jaeger insignia sewn onto theright shoulder in white, and also has the letter 'R' sewn on the left shoulder, also in white. Relinquish wore a dark pink shirt beneath this coat with the insignia of Kings Grasp on the front.

After joining Kurome & Run to destroy Wild Hunt, this shirt changes to a dark blue. With Relinquish himself admitting that the pink did not work well with the other colors. And this shirt does not have Kings Grasp insignia on it, unlike the previous shirt. Other than this Relinquish's jeans have now also changed to dark blue instead of black, matching his new shirt, but still retains his black belt. However, the design of his boots have changed. Resembling something of a "Slip on" boot, with no laces. Somewhat similar to Tatsumi's. And unlike his previous boots which were black, these boots are brown.

It is stated that this attire was custom made for him, and was expensive. But also saying that he finally replaced the jacket Esdeath ruined at the start of the series by piericing it with ice. While with Run and Kurome Relinquish also wears a zip up red hoodie beneath this coat and over his shirt, but never wears it againafter this.

Personality

Relinquish is seemingly carefree, friendly and tolerant towards anyone, polite, eccentric, sarcastic, and extremely casual in even dire situations that do not effect anyone but himself. However beneath this, Relinquish is extremely nihilistic, always studying andanalyzing different people to understand how they think, and what kind of person they may be. Sadomasochistic, claims to be a madman and that all humans are insane to some extent. Cryptic, finds beauty in things that some and in fact most find disturbing, and when he truly desires something such as Kurome has a will that is said by Kings Grasp itself to be absolutely unbreakable.

The most notable trait regarding Relinquish psychology is most likely his concept of mask, facades, and truth. Relinquish believes that he himself is a lie, and is almost barren of any form of truth due to certain traits of his personality changing to accommodate a situation—also believing that the world itself is an empty construct with no truth whatsoever. Relinquish is apparently so convinced about this that when he puts on a "mask", he can say something heknows fully well is a lie, but has tricked himself into believing it so much that it can even get past a lie detector test. However, he also believes that inside him is his "True self." Which is who he truly is behind every mask and lie he has ever told, but has lost over all the years. Relinquish states that if he can find the one thing in the world that is "Truth", he will be able to regain his true self once more. Until joining the Jaegers and meeting Kurome, Relinquish

did not believe that Truth actually existed.

Relinquish refers to himself as “Everything and nothing. A perfect contradiction”. A metaphor for how he is every personality, and constantly as well as knowingly contradicts himself. However, this is a very crucial part of his psychology.

Relinquish believes that not every contradiction is inherently bad.

To Relinquish the concept of good and evil is faulty, something that is far too simple as well as black-and-white to allow true freedom ofthe human mind. Believing that nearly everything is subjective to interpretation by each person. As well as that if this concept of good and evil truly do exist, it simply exist as an objective and clearcut form that cannot possibly be interpreted differently. Which he has yet to come across.

An example of this and his concept of contradictions not being inherently bad is: “You say you love animals, right? Why are you eating them? To stay alive? True. But there are alternatives to eating meat. You say you love animals, but you treat them as livestock, and trap them in cages. Conversely, this contradiction allows the species to live longer, and will almost certainly not go extinct anytime soon. While this is a contradiction, it technically benefits both parties from the objective point of view to simply live longer, if that objectivity existfrom the view of a 3rd party.”- Relinquish speaking to Wave

To be basic, Relinquish does not care if he contradicts himself if it overall allows him to reach his goal.

As stated before Relinquish looks at life from a rather nihilistic point of view. Believing that the concept of life itself is meaningless, serves no overall purpose, but is admittedly fun. He also believes that emotions such as love do not truly exist, rather, they are simplysubconscious illusions developed by instincts in order to encourage humanity to pass on their genes to the next generation. Relinquish also has a similar belief to the concept of pain.

To Relinquish physical pain is another illusion created by the brain in order to encourage humanity to stay alive, but truly believes that

pain does not exist at all. Due to this belief Relinquish is very resistant to pain, and actually enjoys it to an extent. Believing that the more physical pain he suffers, the more endurance he will buildin order to resist the illusion. However, in a short epilogue Kurome theorizes that Relinquish's "True Self" does not enjoy pain at all, but simply created an illusion—in the illusion, for lack of a better term, to try to run away from it. Thinking that if he gives into pain in general, he can make it not seem as bad as it really is.

Still, Relinquish is sadomasochistic. But has a reasoning in his headfor this. He only takes pleasure in killing people who are prepared to die, attack him, and accept death. He would never harm someone innocent unless they are an obstacle in the way of his true goal, nor does he abuse the weak. This is much like the logic of "Those who live by the sword will die by the sword." He will not "Set someone free from life" if they do not want to, because he acknowledges that all of his beliefs are his own, and others may feeldifferently about life. He despises those who force their beliefs uponpeople. Relinquish before realizing his love for Kurome accepts death at any moment, and actually desires for someone to finally kill him, as he believes that this will cause him to truly smile even ifjust for a few moments. Saying that he wonders what kind of melody he himself will play.

The fact cannot be denied that Relinquish enjoys killing, and has said to enjoy the screams and final words of his opponents. Referring to them as "music" and a "chorus." However, it is further explained by Relinquish himself that it is not exactly the taking of life that he enjoys, but rather the sound and things peoplesay in their final moments, when faced with death. Saying that he isfascinated by the fact that each chorus is different and unique fromeach other, and believes that people reveal who they truly are near death—either cowards or those that he respects. Finally ending thisby saying that while life is pointless, it's interesting how unique each human truly is, even if it's just by the smallest feature. Another thing that makes a world with no meaning enjoyable.

While Relinquish is nihilistic, he states that the pointlessness of life

is what gives him the energy to keep moving. Stating that no matterwhat he does or how much he is hurt, there is no reason to care about it, because the result is always the same;Death. No matter what you do in life you will eventually die, so instead of lazing around doing nothing he wants to enjoy how much pointless pain and pleasure he receives before finally dying, which he once again accepts at any moment.

Relinquish has said that the world to him is like a "Messed up game of cards." No matter how you play, you always lose in the end. “So get the most out of your hand before you go down!” The logic of winning and losing at the same time creates, in Relinquish'smind, another example of a perfect contradiction. To Relinquish death is not an enemy that sneaks up from behind and snatches him away at any moment. Rather, it is an acquaintance who he openly walks alongside, and accepts. However, Relinquish discards this logic after coming to the conclusion that Kurome is the only thing in the world with meaning, and will do everything in his power to stay alive until he can stand by Kurome's side. (Further elaborated upon in the Relationship section.)

Relinquish is a man that truly desires very few things, but is extremely stubborn when he finds something that catches his eye, and will go through great lengths to achieve his goals. His will is seemingly and nearly unbreakable. Relinquish claims that he has so much determination, despite believing that life is pointless, because he gladly accepts all the pain that comes his way, which is just an illusion. Also claiming that if he wants to, can defeat any opponent no matter what odds are stacked against him. “If I want to beat you, you will be beaten. There are no other factors. It's as simple as that.”- Relinquish

Relinquish is a character that embodies certain traits of chaos theory. One of the tenants of chaos theory is that too much of a positive eventually turns into a negative, and too much of a negative eventually turns into a positive. Which is why he believes that he has endured so much pain, that the pain itself is now a positive, because it gives him the power to endure nearly anything

physical. This is once again another metaphor for what he calls a "Perfect contradiction".

However, while Relinquish can endure nearly anything physical, this does not mean he is above mental pain, even though he believesotherwise. (An excellent example can be found in the Relationship/Kurome section.) If Relinquish is pinned into a mentalcorner and feels like he may lose the only thing he has ever truly wanted, he will sacrifice anything, even himself to obtain it, even if it's just for a few moments before his own death—this is because his life has no value to him.

Relinquish can be described as pansexual, and identifies as such. While physical appearance and gender does play a small factor, he claims to be much more attracted and interested in the personalities of people themselves rather than their bodies or gender. He has called Wave 'cute' on occasion. Relinquish has even said that he barely acknowledges the concept of gender, race, or even humanity itself at all. He can love anything as long as it interest him.

Relinquish has little to no care about the war and the revolutionaryarmy, nor the outcome of it all as long as the few things he values are not hurt in the process. He does not agree or disagree with either side, but will fight for the Empire as long as he views it as currently beneficial. However, he is not above going against orders.Even offering Akame during Kyoroch a chance to walk past him without attacking in order for her and Mine to reach Bolic, as long as she and Mine promise not to hurt Kurome.

Despite all of this Relinquish is very humble, genuinely nice to nearly everyone of any background, race, social status, and gender. Caring a great deal about his (former) fellow Jaegers. He is also a fan of art, music, literature, and is quite social. Almost always seen with a smile on his face. Even if this smile is fake, he enjoys the illusion of it.

History

Before the series and at the age of 15, Relinquish was a mercenary hired by a nobleman of the Empire to be a soldier, and he was very proficient in seemingly all forms of firearms and projectile weaponry. (It is also stated he stil is to this day.) However, Relinquish also came from a village with very little wealth, or socialstanding in the world. “Nicest dump you'll ever come across in all the land.” Is what he called it. The nobleman that hired Relinquishdid not like this, but still acknowledged his skill and that he clearly outclassed even his own men with just a simple automatic rifle. So he was told that when he goes to battle that he will have no name except the one given to him by his fellow soldiers. These were mostly insults, mind you. But Relinquish simply did not care. All funds he gained would be sent back to his home village.

After 3 years of doing this, Relinquish was offered to be a part of the elite section of nobleman's forces. Granting higher income, but making him leave his village in return. Relinquish denied the offer, but was then threatened with the ultimatum of his village being destroyed. He replied: “Awe. Dammit... Alright. I'm checkmated. Just give me time to say goodbye to Grandmama. Good move,

guys!"”With the nobleman noting how casually Relinquish is in thesituation.

After 2 months of serving by the nobleman's side, Relinquish was told to go in the cellar to get his "Majesty" some wine. While in the cellar Relinquish heard voices in his head, seemingly coming from the wall. This voice said to approach it. After this explosions could be heard from outside the palace, along with the sound of men fighting. Relinquish quickly readied his weapon to go upstairs, but the voice demanded him to stay down in the cellar until the fightingwas over, and that it does not want to lose more "potential". Relinquish simply agreed, and said that “This can be my ticket out of here. I'm frankly tired of serving this scum... Well, I got some wineto pass the time! Want some...?” The voice did not respond.

A few hours later the battle was seemingly over. This voice then told him to move towards a spot on the wall. This reveals that a part of the wall is actually a safe made to stay hidden by blending into the wall. The safe opens by itself, most likely due to the thing that's in it. What's inside the safe is Kings Grasp. The voice demands that Relinquish put them on. Relinquish does this, and is completely compatible with Kings Grasp.

Relinquish then destroys every piece of evidence of his existence by burning all the records of himself in the destroyed palace with Hellfire Touch. Since Relinquish was not officially in the Empire's army, and the nobleman did not want his existence known to the world since Relinquish came from a low standing village, this basically destroys all evidence of him ever existing. Relinquish thenreturns home to his village to work with his grandmother on the farm and signing up for the military reserve unit to bring in more income for his grandmother. During this time Relinquish also secretly trains with Kings Grasp—creating a plethora of abilities ina very short amount of time.

At some point in time a few years later, a spy discovers that Relinquish has the Teigu. And instead of forcibly taking it, Relinquish is 'offered' to join a group of seven. This is almost certainly the Jaegers. If he does not agree the Empire will

"forcibly" confiscate his Teigu. Relinquish complies but also says: “You cheeky fucks sure are good at making ultimatums disguised as choices... Wait, no you're not, because they are so transparent! Anyway, sure. I'll be a lap dog again. Like I really had anything better to do in my spare time. Besides... Maybe I'll find my reason to smile there?”

Relationships

Wave: Wave was the first Jaeger Relinquish ever spoke to, and actually gave him a response, unlike Bols and Kurome. He gets along extremely well with him throughout the course of the series. Considering each other friends, and even fighting alongside each other against Night Raid during Kyoroch. Relinquish truly does consider Wave to be his best friend, and eventually it becomes vice versa. The two share many similarities that they both acknowledge.Laughing and talking together a great deal of times.

When Relinquish first appears after the timeskip, he is hiding around a corner while giving a “Sshh” signal to Kurome while she and Wave are talking. He then slowly sneaks up from behind, and gives Wave a hug.

While Relinquish did not know it at the time, he does not just consider Wave to be a "best friend", but also a "true friend". Meaning that this is not an act, and he truly does care and value him a great deal behind every facade and mask. Referring to him as “Sailor.” “Blue.” “Buddy.” Etc.

However, as Relinquish realizes through the course of the series that Wave is also getting attached to Kurome, he soon comes to the conclusion that eventually the two of them will clash. This is most notable during Wild Hunt. As it is said that Relinquish, during himand Wave's fight, specifically made abilities to counter Wave, because he knew they would fight if this kept going. Training to the point of even unlocking Kings Grasp Trump Card.

The two nearly fight after Relinquish defends Kurome's choice of turning Run into a corpse puppet by killing him with Yatsufusa, believing that he can still be an asset to the Jaegers even in death. Wave nearly attacks Relinquish by saying that if he himself was in the same situation, he would gladly serve Kurome in death. Finally kneeling in front of Kurome, and requesting that if this ever happens to himself to please use Yatsufusa on him—Kurome accepts.

Despite all of this, Relinquish respects Wave very much, and, while he does not envy Wave, actually thinks of himself as inadequate and inferior to him. Always coming to Kurome's aid when he could not have. Examples being when Wave demanded him to go back to Kurome's location during her battle with Night Raid, while Relinquish insisted that she would be fine with Bols at her side. If Wave did not keep pushing him, Relinquish notes that Kurome would most likely be dead. This belief is pushed further when Wavestopped Syura from taking Kurome as his "toy" while he was awaywith Run. Near the later parts of the series, and during him and Wave's fight, Relinquish snaps and refers to Wave as a blight, pestilence, and corruption to Kurome in general. He also views Wave as the one thing stopping him from truly smiling, but someone worthy of ending his life if he is to die, and acknowledges that if this happens that will show Relinquish proof that Wave is

able to protect Kurome, meaning that there is no reason to worry, finally being able to pass on while truly smiling—even if just for a few moments.

Relinquish goes as far as calling Wave an “incorruptible immovable object.” While referring to himself as the “never-endingunstoppable force.” He also at one point compares the two to the likes of Apollonian and Dionysian. Two brother sworn through swords in an intertwining nature, something akin to the natural order of possibly nature itself.

During the epilogue Wave states that while he is not 100% comfortable with Kurome's new relationship with Relinquish, he is calmed by the fact that Kurome told him that if Relinquish ever becomes too much trouble, she'll go to him for help. And comes to the conclusion that while he himself can smile again, Relinquish is someone who has never known happiness, and most likely never can for any other reason.

Relinquish calls Wave Sailor'. "Blue". "Buddy". "Blue Knight". "White Knight". "Comrade" "Blue Ranger". And "Fisherman".

Kurome: At first Relinquish notes that for some reason he is seemingly drawn to Kurome for reasons he does not yet understand, jokingly thinking that his masochistic side just enjoys that she keeps shrugging him off. However, as their relationship progresses Relinquish realizes that he loves Kurome for reasons that at the time he once again does not fully understand, and views her as the only thing in life that can make him truly smile.

Relinquish has said that Kurome is the only thing that “Makes me give a shit about the next thing that comes out of my mouth.” Going through great lengths to never offend her in anyway, and always being respectful to her. He states that when he is around her, it's like he does not think. All the voices, analyzing, planning, itall goes away. Also that there is a warmth, and pain in his chest that hurts so much he cannot resist, but does not want to either. Not to build endurance, but to feel it forever.

Relinquish loves Kurome because he views them as similar to each other. "Perfect contradictions". They do things that in theory should not make sense, or bring pleasure, but somehow do. They are walking oxymoron's. For instance, Relinquish notes that Kurome makes death look beautiful. Calling her a “Perfect Horror”. “Blissful Ending.” “A Black Light”. And “Angel Of Death”. Believing that she is the only person who can understand Relinquish's way of thought, and vice versa.

To Relinquish, Kurome is what he calls “Truth.” Something that hebelieve to not exist until meeting her. She also sparks many changesin Relinquish. Saying that he is not interested in hearing the melody of his opponents anymore, because he has something new toaim for, and protect. Speaking of which, Relinquish is extremely protective of Kurome. Making a group of bandits cower in fear justby looking at them after making claims of sexually assaulting her and Seryu. Is willing to give his life for Kurome at any moment if it saves her, and has even said to himself that if pushed to his limit he will sacrifice comrades he views as “lesser” if it saves her from death, and gets him to his goal. Kurome also makes Relinquish consider the possibility of love and emotion truly existing, and while he does not know who he truly is, knows for certain that he loves Kurome. This is absolute, and will never change no matter what "mask" he puts on next.

Relinquish is pushed to his emotional limits after seeing Kurome kiss Wave by using Eyes Of The Beast to see through wall. Falling to his knees, and dropping the the vase of flowers that he bought for Kurome earlier. He is left so devastated by this that he even tries to convince himself that this is just another form of pain, another test—that he did not really love Kurome, and to move on—but he simply cannot. Every facade has crumbled, and his true self is finally starting to break free. He cannot lie to himself anymore. During this moment, Relinquish, just for a few moments, becomes his true self, he is truly hurt by this with all of his heart. Kings Grasp must tell him to stand up, and that this is simply the price of being weak, while also not being quick enough to take her for himself earlier, but that there is still a way to obtain her. While

Relinquish begs to Kurome on one knee to let him accompany her on the upcoming battle between Akame, he tries his hardest to holdback tears in his eyes, and keep his head down.

But it is also notable that even during Relinquish & Wave's fight hetakes great care not to harm Kurome in any way, even emotionally. Not speaking to her when she demands why he is not talking to her,because he knows that in his current state he cannot make much coherent sense, and is still filled with anger after seeing her and Wave kiss by using Eye's Of The Beast to see through the wall. During this fight Relinquish also could have (perhaps even more easily) defeated Wave by using attacks that cause massive damage to the area or others in the vicinity, but does not use these so that her and the rest of Night Raid can be safe. An example being after firing an extremely powerful Hell's Champion version Hellfire Mortar at Wave, he quickly uses Kings Shield to protect Kurome and Night Raid from the explosion. Relinquish could have instantlykilled Wave by using Touch Of Malice while he grabbed him by thethroat, but would most likely blow his head off, and scar Kurome for life. Relinquish tries to kill Wave as "cleanly" and fairly as possible, not using tactics Relinquish would consider cheap unless necessary, such as Hellfire Touch. This was also out of respect for Wave in general. Which is shown again by giving him fair preparation time to activate Grand Chariot instead of attacking him by surprise with Hellfire Touch, which would most likely outright kill him.

In the epilogue Kurome states that the reason she is staying with Relinquish is because even if she were to be with Wave, she couldn't live with the thought of her friend that she knows is redeemable locked up in a cell with therapy, and being tricked into believing that he is truly happy, when in reality it is just another mask. And also to an extent feels as if it is her fault for being ignorant of his feelings, and not stopping his advances by telling him she is not interested before he realized that he loved her. Ending this by believing that she is the only person, or thing in the world that can bring happiness to someone that has never truly feltit.

Overall Relinquish cares about Kurome and Wave a great deal. And considers them not just best friends, but true friends. Even being comfortable with the two of them being together if Yatsufusa was not destroyed, and would have gladly served the both of them in death while making sure they live comfortable lives together.

Relinquish also calls Kurome "Lovely". "Flower". "Perfect Black". "Lil cookie". "Sailor Skirt". "Black rose". "Rose of divine". And "True Smile".

Dr. Stylish: Relinquish did not care much for Dr. Stylish, stating him as fickle and dishonest. And would have most likely betrayed them in the future anyway. While he did find the Dr. amusing, he did not truly care about him. In fact, he seemed more concerned with Perfector being in enemy hands. It is also said that the Dr. tried to "hit" on him sometimes. Stopping him by saying “I may swing both ways, but not your way”.

Relinquish called Dr. Stylish "Glasses". And "Doc".

Bols: Relinquish cared about Bols a great deal. And was effected byhis death in a way similar to Wave. However, keep in mind that Relinquish lives by the logic of those who live by the sword will eventually die by it. While he was effected by his death, he did not hate the enemy for it, or try to avenge him like Wave did against Night Raid. He simply saw it as a sad death, but not one to be mad about for. It is simply a casualty of war. He respected Bols in his death, and even says that while he will most likely not go where he's going in death, (Heaven) he's going to enjoy seeing Bols happy up at the pearly gates, while he's looking up at him from the pits of hell.

However. Relinquish takes the death of Bols family very seriously, and joins Run and Kurome on there mission to destroy Wild Hunt. Stating that Bols family did not deserve this in the slightest. Nor hiswife or daughter wielded the sword, thus they did not deserve to

meet there end by it. Since Wild Hunt chose to take up the sword, he will greatly enjoy their deaths with no remorse.

Relinquish called Bols "Masky". "Big guy". "Pyro." And "Teddy bear".

Seryu: Relinquish enjoyed Seryu's company, while also acknowledging that she is in fact possibly more insane than he is, but does not care because he can tell that beneath her logic of Justice she is genuinely nice, and to an extent feels pity for her. Knowing that something in her life most likely caused her to be this way, which causes him to say “One wrong turn in life is all a man needs to drive him mad. Are you familiar with that quote, Seryu?” In that respect, he thinks of him and Seryu as similar. However, Seryu is blissfully ignorant of her own madness, Relinquish is aware of his madness, and accepts it. And while it is not shown, the guidebook reveals that Relinquish is often paired upwith Seryu during patrols, missions, training, and has made him "truly" laugh sometimes. But also saying that her going on about her boyfriend can occasionally be a tad bit annoying.

His logic towards Seryu's death is very similar to Bols. Seryu chose to take up the sword, and she simply met her end by it. But does acknowledge that he misses her. Ending this by saying that he can'twait to see her in hell, if there is one. Relinquish also notes that she could easily beat him in arm wrestling, something that even Wave struggled with consistently.

Run: Relinquish took great interest in Run at the start, noting to himself that his smile is just as fake as his own. And could immediately tell that Run was hiding something, without even using Eyes Of The Beast to "taste" his heart. Relinquish confronts Run about this, but knowing full well that he will not talk, simply says to him that he can plan and hide anything he wants. He can even be planning to kill Esdeath, and does not care at all. As long asit does not get in his way, or harm his “flower”in anyway. If it does,

he will find out. Ending this by patting Run's shoulder before walking away, leaving Run standing in shock that he completely figured out his entire reason for being in the Jaegers. To add on topof this later Relinquish talks to Run just as he did before this, almost as if nothing happened.

Despite all of this Relinquish did care about Run. And enjoyed his company before being turned into a corpse puppet. They were said to talk about literature together. After being turned into a corpse puppet, Relinquish views Run as a valuable asset to the Jaegers, and does not mind him being a corpse puppet at all. Even saying that he envy's Run during him and Wave's fight, because he could feel the embrace of Yatsufusa before it was destroyed, and had the honor of serving Kurome in the afterlife. Although the epilogue states that Relinquish later changes his thoughts on this, and Yatsufusa in general. Saying that if he was a puppet, he would never feel true happiness.

Relinquish called Run "Blondie." "Smartass." And "Smarty Pants."

Esdeath: Relinquish respects Esdeath a great deal, and gets along very well with her. However, he disagrees with the logic of the strong being able to abuse the weak and innocent, because he believes that you are only allowed to abuse those who take up the sword. Esdeath has also been shown to be noticeably tougher on Relinquish in comparison to most of the Jaegers. This is because she believes that while Relinquish is powerful, he fights without a purpose, and can tell that he is holding his true potential back. Thisis why during his time with the Jaegers Relinquish was often "ordered" by Esdeath to train with her in order to help tap into histrue potential. She is also not a fan of most of Relinquish's humor. After she announces that he'll be training with Kurome, Seryu, andher at the same time to test his limits, Relinquish replies “Awesome! Its like I have my own harem!” She is not amused, in theslightest.

Relinquish also rarely ever calls Esdeath a nickname, due to her rank and respect. However, he calls her “Bouncing Betty” to her face two times in the series. And has said it again multiple times while she was not present. Esdeath keeps a close eye on Relinquish, stating that if he went rogue it could cause dire consequences to theEmpire, and can destroy entire settlements, perhaps even military bases single handedly if he truly wants it. Still, she also knows that Relinquish in many respects is actually quite simple, and that he does not desire many things. After the 3 remaining Jaegers defect she actually hopes that Relinquish was killed in battle, rather than betrayed the Empire to fight on the enemy side. As in many ways he can pose as a direct counter to her by using Hellfire Touch. Which she is fine with, but knows that she won't have as much timeto “Have fun with him” if he is considered an enemy.

Akame: Relinquish calls Akame beautiful in the same sense that he finds Kurome beautiful, but also calls her a “Cheap imitation” of Kurome. Second rate. But has admittedly said that he would preferthat he not have to fight her, because she can be somebody else's beauty, and does not want to snuff out a unique “Scarlet Red” suchas herself from existence. However, he also thanks her and the rest of Night Raid for staying out of him and Wave's fight. But also dislikes her for not covering Kurome's eyes when he told Kurome to not look at him while he has Hell's Champion active. Calling her a “Shitty older sister”.

During the epilogue Relinquish apologizes to Akame for everythinghe has done to her, Kurome, and Night Raid. Akame notes that she'll be keeping an eye on him, and that if he ever makes Kurome feel uncomfortable—Followed by grabbing Murasame.

During the epilogue, Relinquish is actually hinted to slightly fear Akame due to him now valuing life, and being able to take his so easily.

Relinquish calls Akame "Scarlet Red". "Hunter Killer". "Scarlet Killer". And "Red Death".

Tatsumi: At first Relinquish does not understand why Tatsumi is in the Jaeger reserves, nor does he really care about him much. But also says that Esdeath's chain around his neck "suits" him. And slightly teases him with jokes during the little time they spent together. Calling him “Little Rookie”. However, he also acknowledges Tatsumi's growth during their next two encounters, when Relinquish Kurome and Run attempt to destroy Wild Hunt, and before him and Wave's fight. Now calling him “Little Dragon” And even noting to himself that Tatsumi may have the potential to defeat Hell's Champion itself.

Tatsumi thinks that Relinquish is very disturbed, and unpredictable.

Relinquish's only nicknames for Tatsumi are "Little Rookie". And "Little Dragon".

Leone: Relinquish knows, nor cares little to nothing about Leone. With him seemingly only noticing her breast size. Calling her "Bouncing betty".

Mine: It can be gathered during their short time fighting each other that Relinquish has an extreme dislike for Mine. As she was able to heavily damage limbs from Kings Grasp, and chains from Kings Bind before they had time to stop Akame. He calls her multiple insults such as "Tart". "Child". "Pinky", Etc. At one point he grabs her leg with a chain from Kings Bind before she fires at Wave, reels her in with the chain while also preparing to killher with Hellfire Touch, and says “When you get to hell tell em Relisent ya!” Akame however saves Mine by cutting the chain, and getting her out of the way.

Lubbock: Lubbock in Relinquish's eyes share many similarities to

his relationship with Mine. Arguably even more so by using Realm Cutting Thread to hold him in place, and allowing Akame to get past him. Also calling him insults, and also saying to him that “You're as dull as your hair is green.” Interestingly though, after Relinquish orders Wave to go back to the Cathedral to catch up with Night Raid and protect Kurome, he uses Key To The Throne in order to cut through the thread, and has the opportunity to kill Lubbock, but spares him. This is because Relinquish was only fighting to stay alive after realizing that he loves Kurome, and does not accept death anymore. Still, it is perplexing as to why he sparedLubbock's life with little to no drawbacks coming from it. If Relinquish chose to end Lubbock's life here, it would have significantly changed the story.

Relinquish himself notes later that he has no idea why he did this, but speculates that he was too excited after surviving his first battlewhere he actually tried to stay alive and care about something.

Equipment And Skills

.Hand To Hand Combat

While it is not often shown, Relinquish is said by Run to be an expert in hand to hand combat. Also possessing a great deal of physical endurance. Being resistant to most forms of physical pain due to how much he has been exposed to it for all his life. And has been said to enjoy physical bare hand "brawling" much more than fighting with Teigu. Relinquish thinks of himself as a natural born fighter. When asked by Wave how he got his physical build, he tells him that he just trained for fun to pass the boredom of being on a farm all day, and didn't even notice he was developing muscle at all. Simply stating that he enjoyed the pain of a sore body, and writhing in agony from it was actually very "fun" to him.

.Perceptivity

Relinquish is said to be even more perceptive than Run, but is not as traditionally intelligent as Run or Dr. Stylish. He claims that he gained this trait by constantly playing games of strategy in his spare time, while also learning how to predict an opponent, and people in general. Stating no matter what all humans are simple, and contain at least one pattern. You simply need to find the pattern, learn it, and disrupt it's movement. Relinquish himself haseven said that he is actually easy to predict, but can get around this by putting up a different facade which contains a new pattern.

In many respects, Relinquish can fight in a similar fashion to Akame- observing an opponent. But often does not need to do this because his power is rarely ever matched or challenged except by another Teigu user.

.Extreme Creativity

Relinquish is extremely creative. Taking the base abilities of Kings Grasp, and creating entirely new ones. Dozens upon dozens actually. And these are just the ones confirmed to exist, he may have more than that, in fact it is most likely that he does. While constantly creating new ideas for his Teigu. When asked how many abilities he has for Kings Grasp in an omake at the end of a volumeby a fan, he was quoted by saying “I'm at a little bit over 100 now.” If this is cannon or not is unconfirmed.

.Foresight

A minor trait, but this is not to be underestimated and laughed off. Relinquish has extremely powerful foresight. Predicting entire events in the series, such as him and Wave's fight, and predicted this in between the timeskip of Kyoroch and Wild Hunt. He also knew from the very day he entered the Capital that eventually it would be destroyed, crumbling in on itself. He is also somewhat of a military strategist. Knowing patterns of troops, and advanced military tactics.

.Gunsmith & Expert In Firearms

Relinquish is a gunsmith, and expert in firearms. His first projectile weapon was a bolt action pistol he made when he was 10. And Made a fully automatic and heavily modified assault rifle by the time he was 15. Knowing a great deal about how they work, so much so that he can instantly tell what specific weapon is attacking him just by listening to it fire a handful of times.

.Battle Experience

To add onto Relinquish's talent of crafting projectile weapons, he still holds all his experience of being a basic foot soldier in his teenage years. Knowing full well how to effectively take cover, identify if the enemy is laying down suppressing fire or not, as well as doing the same. Track sniper's fire. And is able to use a wide variety of firearms. Including rifles, pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, etc. He is also well versed in explosives. But says he would much rather prefer the standard “Workhouse weapon” given to a grunt, such as an automatic assault rifle. And while he has not gonethrough the hellish training that others such as Akame and Kurome have, he is very experienced in the art of killing, that developed over the course of 3 years. He has said to have fought with his trusted assault rifle in frozen tundras, trenches, deserts, mountains, swamps, and has sieged as well as defended multiple castles, villages, etc.

.Teigu

Relinquish wields Hell's Herald: Kings Grasp. This Teigu was crafted from an extremely powerful Danger Beast that had the potential to destroy the world. While it is dead, it's spirit still lives inside the Teigu. (Similar to Incursio) Which are two black gloves with a tough and scaly feel to it, once worn give the ability to

summon the limbs, skeletal structure, fire, and even manifest extremely large weaponry. This Teigu is very powerful, but has a low compatibility rate with most people that lack determination. It is stated that Relinquish to date is the strongest wielder of Kings Grasp.

Kings Grasp Trump Card can only be used by someone that strivesfor something or someone more than anything in their entire lives, and has extreme determination. Using this Teigu Relinquish can use giant hands to rip enemies apart, Hellish flames that never stopburning until deactivated, or until a target's death. Spawn wings that can fly great distances, stomp someone to death with a leg, defend against multiple attacks from not just average weapons but even other Teigu's by spawning a rib cage and a shield that can surround him, cut down men with weapons from Kings Arsenal, bind someone with chains. And many, many more.

Kurome's Notes

During the epilogue Kurome keeps a notebook full of theories as to why and how Relinquish became the way he is, and how she may be able to fix it. Even documenting her progress as time goes by. These notes provide very interesting information Relinquish's psychology ingeneral.

.Kurome notices that Relinquish does not put on an outside facade anymore, and his personality has almost completely changed. He is now timid, shy, and very submissive. Kurome believes that this is good, and similar to a newborn baby. This is the first time he has been his "True self" for such an extended period of time, and needs to get used to these new feelings that he is unfamiliar with. Over the course of a few months Relinquish slowly but surely gains the traits he previously possessed, but they are now "truthful".

.Relinquish makes himself completely submissive to Kurome, and refers to himself as "Her loyal dog". Believing that this is a negative effect on his psychology, Kurome instills into Relinquish that they areabsolute equals in every respect, and to never put himself on a lower level than her. While she has made progress, this is still something she needs to work on.

.Relinquish at the start never touched Kurome in any way without permission from her first. Even for the simplest act of patting her shoulder, when previously he did this without a care. Kurome thinks of this as good, but assures him that he does not need to be so hesitant, while also setting boundaries to make sure he does not go too far. Now, Relinquish has a love and habit of carrying Kurome either in his arms or on his back, stating that a "Flower of your beauty is far too good to walk!"

Kurome is comfortable with this (most of the time) because she see's that Relinquish is not stiff at all, and is not obsessing over possibly harming her. He now does things such as this without a care, just likeat the start of the series.

.Kurome theorizes that Relinquish uses pain in a way similar to that of a cattle prod. He does not enjoy it, but it does force him to keep moving towards his goal, which was to be by Kurome's side. Now thathe has achieved this Kurome insist that he does not need the pain anymore, and instead wishes to discover how he gained this logic in the first place.

.Kurome tries convincing him that life does have meaning by

bringing up the argument that everything your body does for you encourages you to stay alive. And that if life does not have a purpose, why the body would do this. Relinquish to this day still cannot answerthe question, but will not concede. Saying that they both know they cannot answer the question, and that it is simply one of the mysteries of life that humanity cannot yet answer. However, Relinquish currently still believes that life has no meaning, but concedes that thethings and people in life such as Kurome have objective value to him.

.After telling Kurome that he has had the same hair style for all his life, she encourages Relinquish to grow his hair out. She believes thatsubtle changes such as these can be indicative of having greater leapsin progress to come later. Relinquish jokingly notes that while she loves doing his hair, she'll sooner let him get to “2nd base” than let him do hers.

.When asking if the "voices" in Relinquish's head have gone away, he answers yes, but now hears a light ringing sound in his ears.

.Kurome now gives Relinquish the nickname "Darling." While Relinquish calls Kurome "My lovely." Rather than "lovely."

.Relinquish & Kurome now live in the same house that Relinquish bought. In the first few weeks they slept in separate rooms. However, after their relationship becomes more established, she insist that they sleep in the same bed so that they can both get comfortable with the idea. It is also worth noting that Relinquish enjoys hugging Kurome a great deal. Much more than any other form of contact such as holding hands, and even kissing. When Kurome asked why this is, he replies by saying that while he does not understand it, but the warmthof a living human is far more enjoyable than the melody of a soon-to-be-corpse is.

.After visiting the village Relinquish grew up in and speaking with his grandmother while Relinquish is talking with the children of the village about the 'cool' things he did while he was gone, Kurome is told that Relinquish's parents left a long time ago when he was extremely young, and does not know where they are, or if they are still alive. He was taken care of by her for most of his life.

Relinquish was also extremely intelligent for his age, and his grandmother believes that he was too intelligent for his own mind to handle at the time. Asking her questions such as “What is the purpose of life?” by the time he was 8 years old, and never had anyone he could talk to about this besides her, because all of his friends at this age were too young and uninterested in talking about it. In fact, one of his first words as a baby was "Relinquish." A word that is very complex for a mind of that age to even say. Overall, his grandmother believes that Relinquish never had the time to enjoy childhood. But also calls him the "Most loving kid to ever exist."

Overall, Relinquish's grandmother believes that he thinks too much.

.Kurome theorizes that Kings Grasp may have a negative effect on Relinquish's psychology, after realizing that he is very attached to them. And does everything she can to slowly stop him from wearing them. Experimenting with methods such as letting her carry one glove, while he holds onto the other. Later in bed when Kurome suggested that she put Kings Grasp in the basement for the rest of thenight, she wakes up in early in the morning to realize that Relinquishhas still not gone to sleep, and is shaking sporadically from being separated from them for such a long time. Putting him to sleep a few moments later by simply hugging him.

.Early in the relationship Kurome see's that Relinquish is now obsessed with gaining power and being absolutely perfect, so that shecan find no reason to possibly leave him. Kurome continuously assures Relinquish that she will not leave him no matter what, and eventually stops this.

.After 7 months Kurome ask Relinquish what his dream is now. He answers by saying that its to live as long as possible with Kurome while truly smiling, and to die alongside her with that same smile. And that if there is a hell to burn in it with Kurome while holding hands for eternity. While Kurome does not believe this logic is as bad as before, she still see's that Relinquish has alot more progress to make, but has noticed huge changes since the start of his recovery. He can be separated from Kings Grasp for days and weeks, has regained most of his attitude that he possessed at the start of the

series, but knows that this is not an act because while doing this he is truly smiling. And is even confident that he can now speak to Wave.

• Relinquish and Tatsumi are one of the few, if not the only two characters to permanently change their appearance in the series.

• Relinquish's weapon during the time of his soldier days was an automatic rifle he called "The Workhouse." Which had an underbarrel grenade launcher and red dot optical sight, could be fitted with a suppressor, along with being able to change from burst fire with 5 rounds, to semi automatic single fire. It is said that Relinquish made this rifle himself. He decided to leave this with his grandmother in order to protect herself, and kisses the weapon beforeleaving to join the Jaegers.

• Relinquish and Wave share many similarities, much like Tatsumi.

• They both have dark hair, although Relinquish does not have his hair in a cowlick, but instead all of his hair is brushed down.

• Relinquish and Wave can both be considered "Country bumpkins" in a sense. As Relinquish was raised on a farm, grew up in a small village, and is not well accustomed to places such as the Capital.

• Relinquish is on par with Wave's height, and is nearly the same. But on closer inspection it can be seen that Wave is slightly taller. While Wave is 180 cm, Relinquish is 177 cm.

• Both wear leather jackets with shirts down the middle. Although Relinquish's is black, and this later changes to a variation of coat after Kyoroch. As well as changing the colors to black and red.

• While Wave is outright faster than Relinquish on foot, Relinquish has

more endurance, and can run for longer periods of time, just at a slower pace.

• Both wear a form of insignia that is said to be close to their heart. For Wave it is his anchor. For Relinquish it is the blood on Kings Grasp, which he considers a symbol of his resolve.

• Both wear a belt boots and jeans.

• Relinquish's age is never officially revealed, but is said to be older than Wave by a few months to possibly a year, and is at least 20-22. Even the guidebook jokingly states Relinquish's age as “Older than Wave.”

• Both use Teigu's crafted from the Tyrant family of Danger Beast.

• They are both occasionally drawn with their pupils being replaced by there respective Teigu's insignia's, and color. Wave's being blue, while Relinquish's is green.

• Are close to a member of their family. Wave is close to his mother, while Relinquish is close to his grandmother.

• Both desire to protect Kurome. Although unlike Wave, Relinquish takes this to the extent of "Protecting her at all cost." Possibly even sacrificing comrades that he views as "lesser" if he is pushed to his mental limit.

• As stated in his quote, Relinquish does not believe in the concept of names. Believing that they are just metaphysical things created by man to make their lives easier. Even with Kurome's new relationship with him, Relinquish still does not believe in the concept of names, and states that you can call him whatever he wants. While Kurome is cautious of this, shebelieves that if this concept is kept in check and does not take it to a larger extent like he did before, it should cause no mental harm to him.

• Relinquish created the ability Combusting Blade to specifically defeat Wave and Grand Chariot. As one of his worst fears was that Wave could endure Hellfire Touch with his armor (Which Wave did), and needed an explosive force to get past Grand Chariot's defense. So he decided to compress the flames from Hellfire Touch in the weapon, and made it so they combust upon impact with a hard enough surface, and with enough force- Creating an explosion. Relinquish compares this to rubbing a

match up against a match box.

• Relinquish is the first Jaeger to swear and curse. "Hey, bouncing Betty, what the hells your problem?!" (Keep in mind, Seryu was apart of the Imperial Police before joining the Jaegers. While she did swear, she was not an official member yet.) However, Relinquish does not believe in the concept of "Curse words" at all. In his eyes "heck" is no different from "hell."

• Relinquish's Kanji is written with the letters for "Submit", "Give up", "Take", and "Wise".

• Near the end of the anime Relinquish does not take part of many activities, and instead takes care of a weakened Kurome by doing task such as replacing bandages, helping her out of bed, putting a hot towel on her head, etc. However, during episode 22 after Run reveals that he knowsabout Kurome's secret, he looks at Run and contemplates killing him quickly by using Hellfire Touch. Kurome simply places a hand on his arm,and smiles. Knowing what Relinquish is thinking, and telling him to calm himself.

• If the anime were to ever get a second season, Relinquish would most likely be the first character to dual wield a Teigu- using Yatsufusa and King's Grasp.

• In the anime-universe-ending, Relinquish fights using Yatsufusa and Kings Grasp, and even has a large blue bear as a corpse puppet that is several times bigger than him. Also wearing his current attire in the manga.

• In the anime-universe-ending, Relinquish has the words "Keep fighting, for her!" engraved on Yatsufusa's sheathe in Kanji. A reference to Kurome.

• In the anime Relinquish's role in Kyoroch vastly changes. Instead of fighting Night Raid alongside Wave, he is tasked with protecting Bolic, and fails at this. As Akame faces him in an enclosed space where his Teiguis not as effective, allowing Lubbock to kill Bolic. Akame & Lubbock can be seen escaping as an enraged Relinquish consumes the entire area in flames from Hellfire Touch.

• Relinquish is well versed and fluently speaks multiple languages, such as

German, French, and even a bit of Russian. Although, barely anyone can understand him when speaking like this, because neither those countries or languages have been invented yet. Most likely a "wink" at the audience. As a matter of fact, Relinquish is known for breaking the 4th wall of the series every so often. Referencing other manga in the same magazine Akame ga Kill is published in, The Shawshank Redemption, andNightmare On Elm Street.

• When first seen in his new attire by Wave, he asked Relinquish why he chose a pink shirt. Relinquish claims that pink is the color of passion, and that passion is power. Asking if Kurome agrees, she tells Relinquish that she would have preferred a different color, such as blue. A few panels laterRelinquish can be seen holding multiple different shirts with various shades of blue, and then asking Kurome “So what kind of blue are we talking about here? Navy, Azure, Ultramarine...?” With Wave asking how moved so fast. Later in the story and after their attack on Wild Hunt, Relinquish thanks Kurome for picking out his new dark blue shirt while they were out getting a cake to share with Wave. This shows how and why Relinquish changed his shirt to blue, and once again showcases just how much influence Kurome has over Relinquish in general.

• In omake's such as Akame ga Kill theater or gags at the end of a volume,Relinquish in chibi form seems to wear headphones. Black and red ones, to be specific. But is never seen with these in any other series.

• Relinquish has a very good memory. He has said to remember every single ability he has ever created for Kings Grasp, naming and using themby heart. He can even go over each one in alphabetical, or the chronological order of when he first discovered, created, and or used the ability. He never forgets a tool he can use during combat. When asked how he's able to do this, he replied “Well when you're fighting against people who can take your life with one cut of a sword, shoot you dead witha gun that fires energy, and break your neck with wires, you're sort of good at remembering things or you die.”

• Before engaging in training with Kurome & or Seryu, Relinquish would often bow with an arm behind his back and say "May I have this dance, lovely?" He replaced the word 'lovely' with "dear" while training with Seryu. And said "ladies" or "gals" when training with both of them at thesame time. When Relinquish attempted doing this on Esdeath, she shot iceat him so intense that it broke through Kings Shelter's non manual

activation in 2 seconds. Barely giving Relinquish time to defend himself.

• It can be gathered that Relinquish proudly enjoys (enjoyed) being a Jaeger a great deal, so much so that the insignia is sewed on his coat. And even after defecting does not remove the insignia. However, during the epilogue it can be seen that the insignia is now crossed out with a red X over it, and the word "Fallen" written in red below.

• Relinquish spent very little of his earnings from the Jaegers on anything.Most of it was sent back to his village to support his grandmother, and the rest was spent on mostly the essentials. However, in the epilogue Relinquish later buys a house for him and Kurome that was purchased with a great deal of earnings from his time with the Jaegers.

• If Relinquish had a Dungeons & Dragons Alignment, it would be Chaotic Neutral. He is, in a sense, individualistic, or at least does not trulycare about many other things. The chaotic part comes from him being sporadic- extremely sporadic. He will break rules and disobey orders without a care if he wants to, and is not above breaking as well as contradicting his own philosophies, clauses, and moral codes for the greater good or benefit of himself, and or the few things he truly values. In many respects, Relinquish is the closest Akame ga Kill has to a "Wild Card" character. Kurome drives this in him, and is the only thing he will not sacrifice. In truth, he will relinquish (no pun intended) nearly anything, and break any rule to reach her.

• Relinquish had the highest compatibility rate with Kings Grasp than any previous user to date. 99.02%

• Ironically, one of the main complaints about Relinquish's character in the earlier parts of the series was that his design was too basic. However, Relinquish now has one of the most detailed designs in the series, that takes a great deal longer to draw than before. Add this onto other things such as the insignia on King's Grasp needing to be drawn on the gloves, and on the shirt Relinquish wears. And other things such as the buttons on the coat, belt buckle, etc.

• Relinquish would be rather complex to draw. This is due to having some of the most wide color variation in the series. Requiring more effort than most characters for color pages. Needing two shades of brown. One for hiseyes, and a light shade for his boots. Grey for the buttons on his coat. Bluefor his shirt, and his jeans. Red for the insignia on Kings Grasp. Along

with the tips of his coat sleeves. Black for his hair, and the majority of his coat. And finally white for the other insignia's on his coat. If you would like to draw him with color while using abilities such as Kings Grip or Hellfire Touch, then you will also need gray, black, and a light touch of purple if he's using Kings Flight. As well as green for Hellfire Touch.

• If Kurome did not exist, either one of two things would have happened inthe series:

1.Relinquish would have died in Kyoroch due to Akame, because he has no reason to live, or use his true power. He would be too entranced by Akame's beauty that he would would let her kill him- truly smiling while dying. Wave would most likely also dual wield Kings Grasp, and Grand Chariot.

2.Relinquish after fighting Akame would most likely defect from the Jaegers, and join Night Raid in order to stand by Akame's side.

• In a short epilogue after an 8 month timeskip, Relinquish can be seen training with a new attack he created after being inspired by Wave and Grand Chariot's Grand Fall attack. The attack is called "Dark Flight." And mimics Grand Fall in nearly every way. Beginning with him flying into the air by using Kings Flight, and using Kings Legs while propelling himself downwards and to the ground. Relinquish is still working out the "kinks" in this attack, and states that it is not as powerful as Boosted Grand Fall yet, and even its predecessor.

• And just like Wave, Relinquish possesses an even more powerful version of the attack called "Hellish Blight." Which is him using Dark Flight, but this time surrounded in the flames from Hellfire Touch. Upon impact withthe ground it creates a powerful shockwave that spreads the flames in all directions. However, this attack is still in development, and is ironically even weaker than Dark Flight, which at the moment is not even as powerful as an average Grand Fall from Wave. But Relinquish believes that once he has mastered these two attacks, Dark Flight will easily surpass even Wave's most powerful variation of Grand Fall. Relinquish has jokingly said "Maybe the reason it's not as powerful is because I don'tyell the attacks name out loud enough...?"

• Conversely, Relinquish believes that he cannot perfect the attack until he

see's Wave do it again, and help him perfect his stance. Considering everything that has happened between the two of them, most can assume that this would be a rather awkward situation...

• Relinquish also created an ability with Kings Grasp during the timeskip after Kyoroch, that involves the long tail at the end of his new coat. Using Kings Grasp pure energy he extends the tail of the coat by several dozen feet, throws it into the air, and controls it via movement with his hands and body. This is primarily a defensive ability, that can be used to absorb massive amount of gunfire from all directions, and is slightly weaker than Kings Shield. Using this while darting around the battlefield can make him extremely difficult to hit, and confuse the enemy. Relinquish notes that this can also be used to shield allies by enveloping himself and others in the large coat. This manifested coat can also be surrounded by Hellfire,and used offensively by spreading the flames with the coat. This ability is never shown in the series, and is only mentioned as well as used in extended media and stories.

• This ability is called "Shroud Of Rubicante." In honor and in memory of Bols. Who Relinquish first presented the idea of the ability to when he was alive, with Bols saying it sounded 'cool.'

• It is stated that Relinquish is also currently creating an ability in honor of Seryu, called "Hekatonkheires Smite." And will involve flaming hammers that can be thrown at a target. Once they make impact they will deal massive damage, and burn the enemy with Hellfire Touch. The hammers represent the blunt force of Justice, while the flames represent the wicked burning for their crimes. Relinquish notes that Seryu would have loved this ability if she was still alive, and wishes he could see the smile on her face.

• Finally, it is interesting to note Relinquish made abilities in honor, and inspired by the Jaegers he respected the most, as a tribute to their sacrifices. (The exception being Wave.) his once again shows that Relinquish did not care for Dr. Stylish.

• Relinquish is very good at infiltration missions, because he is commonly said to not act, look, or have the posture of a soldier at all. Some have evensaid that it is extremely easy to mistake him as an eccentric civilian.

• Relinquish is inspired by many characters, concepts, and philosophies. Some of them include, but are not limited to: The Joker from DC comics. Meruem from Hunter x Hunter. Kaiki Deishu from the Monogatari series.Griffith from Berserk. Ulquiorra Cifer from Bleach. Vergil from Devil May Cry. Alex from A Clockwork Orange. And... Even Wave himself, fromAkame ga Kill.

• Relinquish is also inspired by the philosophies of: Nihilism. Chaos theory. Will-to-power. Becoming a monster in order to scare the other monsters away. Irresistible force paradox (A.K.A Unstoppable force and immovable object). And Apollonian and Dionysian.

• Going back to the comparisons between Relinquish and Wave, one couldeven say that the two or meant are be mirror images of each other. Two opposing, yet similar forces. Relinquish, in a way, can be considered a much, much more darker and complex version of Wave. (Keep in mind, 'complex' does not mean inherently 'good' or 'better'.)
