VOCABULARY Striking: attracting attention; impressive: a
striking beauty. Worship: to show profound religious devotion
and respect to; adore or venerate (God or any person or thing considered divine).
Plague: A sudden destructive influx or injurious outbreak: a plague of locusts.
Jar: A cylindrical glass or earthenware vessel with a wide mouth and usually no handles.
To sink: To descend to the bottom; submerge. Tomb: A grave or other place of burial. Deemed: To regard as; consider: deemed the
results unsatisfactory.
