Definitions
Inter-ethnic relationship is defined as:
- People living as a couple
- People identifying with a different ethnic group from their partners
- Full 18 ethnic group classification

Key points
• Outside the Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups, most likely White Irish (71%), Other Black (62%) and Gypsy or Irish Travellers (50%).
• Least likely White British (4%) and Bangladeshi (7%), Pakistani (9%) and Indian (12%).
• Chinese women were almost double that of Chinese men, 39% to 20%.
• 4 in 10 (40%) included White British
• People married (or in civil partnership) less likely than people cohabiting
• 7% of dependent children lived in a household with an inter-ethnic relationship.
• Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi least likely
