DENG

Using optic fibre broadband connectivity, Reliance World offers DENG (Digital Electronic News Gathering Service) to television channels. The service can also be utilised by advertising agencies, ad film producers and feature film houses.

DENG has radically changed TV news gathering in India.

How DENG WorksDENG enables transmission of video footage from Reliance World. The DENG facility at Reliance World has all necessary equipment installed, including state-of-the-art encoders & decoders. The footage can be directly picked up from the camera (Betacam, Digi Beta, Digital) or any kind of media and transmitted to the destination.

Signals travel on Reliance Communications’ terabit OFC (Optical Fibre Cable) network. The transmission speed varies between 4 mbps and 4.3 mbps. This enables the footage to be transmitted in real time.

DENG can function in two modes:

Reliance World to Studio: In this mode, Reliance connects up the studio(s) to the closest Reliance MCN (Media Convergence Node) with optic fibre and installs decoding equipment at the studio premises. Reporters can send in their footages from any Reliance World that has DENG facility directly to the channel’s studios.

Reliance World to Reliance World: In this mode, the studio can record the feed at the Reliance World closest to the studio as reporters send in their footages from the Reliance World closest to their location. Recording the feed is facilitated by decoders installed at Reliance World.

Besides these two modes, live transmission is also possible from select Reliance World stores with video conferencing facility. The Video Conferencing Room doubles up as a makeshift studio.The transfer is managed by a Central Connectivity Hub, ensuring 100% network availability and success rate.A Boon for TV ChannelsTelevision channels find DENG to be extremely convenient and cost-efficient since they do not

have to rush their highly expensive OB vans to each and every location. With this service available in 86 cities, it is no wonder that almost all news channels and news gathering agencies in India utilise the DENG service. Traditionally, news channels used to send footage through leased lines, OB vans/SNGs, FTP via the Internet or the last resort – courier! How It Works

When you Schedule a Video Conference at Reliance World. we reserve your slot in all the locations that you wish to be connected to in your Conference.

On the appointed day and time, all attendees visit Reliance World in their respective cities and participate in the Video Conference.

Each Reliance World has a specially-designed soundproof Video Conferencing Room, equipped with state-of-the-art video conferencing equipment. The room can accommodate up to 9 participants comfortably, with 5 participants in distinct view of the camera. The digital Home Theater System, with a 42" plasma TV gives you that near real-life experience.

You can even hook up your Video Conference from Reliance World to any enterprise which has a standards based ISDN video conferencing facility, even if that enterprise is in a different country.

Participants who have no video conferencing facility can also join in using their telephone connections.

Meetings, and beyondReliance World Video Conferencing operates in several modes:

 

Full-Screen View: This mode is used in a one-to-one conference when two locations can see each other in full screen.

Recommended Use:Interviews, Point-to-point meetings.

 

Continuous Presence:This mode is used in multi-party conferences. Each location sees all other locations.

Broadcast Mode: In this mode, all participants see the speaker, but not each other. The speaker can see all participants.

View Mode: The host can view the remote location.

Reliance World, in association with Ilaza VDO, brings you VDO Resume - a unique online system that integrates a video file into the candidate’s resume. Think of it as the first employer-candidate meeting without an interview! It is a complete web-based system that offers the flexibility for employers to:

Specify questions(s) that the candidate should answer in the video

Include profile-based question(s) that the candidate should answer by selecting from dropdown list(s), thus incorporating an inbuilt filtration mechanism

Include an online assessment customised to each job position posted

How It Works

1. The employer creates a unique Job ID on www.ilazavdo.com. Relevant information is uploaded and mapped to the Job ID: question(s) that the candidate will answer in the video, profile-based questions and online assessment questions.

2. The employer advertises the job in online/print media with an instruction for candidates to upload their Video Resumes at their nearest Reliance World (there are over 240 outlets across the country). An example of the instruction is given below.

3. Interested candidates visit Reliance World and register online for the job, record their videos and key in all information required by the employer. They are assisted by trained WebGuides at Reliance World.

4. After the application deadline is over, the employer gets all Video Resumes on a CD along with the online assessment responses for each Job ID. The employer may also nominate a person to visit any Reliance World to filter, sort, review and grade all resumes before burning the short-listed resumes on a CD.

Reliance World offers My Health Records—a service that organises and preserves your health records in a digital format by transferring them on a CD.

Getting your My Health Records CD

Bring all your paper health records to the Business Centre at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani (KDA) Hospital.

They will be scanned and returned to you along with your Order ID. My Health Records CD containing all your health records, organised and indexed by

Category, Hospital/Clinic/Lab and Doctor, will be created. You can collect the CD in person or opt for it to be delivered to an address in India or other

countries.*

Updating your My Health Records CDWhenever you have new records, you can update the CD by bringing the new records to us and quoting your Order ID. An updated CD would be sent to you. Digital copies of your records are preserved on our system, making it easy for you to get another CD whenever you need one. Health is wealth, they say. Visit the Broadband Centre at Reliance World. Once you express your interest in becoming a member, our Customer Care Associate will help you with the registration process. There are several trained Customer Care Associates in each Reliance World.

You will need to purchase a Starter Pack. These packs are available in various denominations. Using the Serial no. & the PIN on the starter pack, you will register online. You will choose a unique Username & a Password. This will protect your account from being misused.

You will use this Username & Password combination to log in every time you want to surf or play an online game. Surfing and Gaming are charged in multiples of 15 minutes. Your membership is valid at all Reliance World stores across the country.

Proof Of Identity (POI) document with you. The list of valid POI documents as specified by the authorities are: Income Tax PAN, Photo Credit Card, Passport, Arms License, Driving License, Election Commission Card, Ration Card with Photo & Address, Certificate of Address having photo issued by MP, MLA, Group A Gazetted Officer on Letterhead or Village Panchayat Head (for rural areas), Government undertaken education institutions (for student only) or any other form of identity proof issued by the government that bears your photograph)

If you are below 18 years of age and do not have any of the above IDs, you need to provide any identity card that bears your photo along with a Parental Consent Form & POI of your parent.
