4.2 Fixed Bugs
Description
Fixed in release
• After loop activation in the module DPU no other DPU configuration can be carried out until the loop is disabled again.
4.1
• MDRS in OSPF Stub Areas keeps AS-external routes alive in its LSDB.
4.1
• The software download session to the ODU is temporarily not successful (exceptionally).
4.1 SR1
• The layer 1 of the Ethernet Interface is monitored. On the consequence the OSPF routing process reacts when the cable is unplugged.
4.3 SR1
• The status that the ODU LED ‘Operation’ may keep off after a power down of the system was fixed. The reason for this bug was a signalling process in the IDU SW 430.
4.3 SR1
• The process of software switching to the new ODU software from a
software version 100 or 111 led to an inappropriate behaviour of the
RF-Switch which results in a traffic interruption of more than 500 ms.
This bug is fixed in ODU version 201 belonging to the system
software release 4.3 S1/2.
4.3 SR1
• IDU soft reset in case of ATPC active doesn’t cause BEs 5.0 SR1
• Range of alarm thresholds for ‘ODU 50V’ adapted to 48 and 60 V 5.0 SR1
• The tool ‘Net View’ embedded in LMT 7.0.522 collects other NEs
completely, located to an upper SISA level than the root NE
5.1
• Some minor editorial corrections in LMT. Improvement of the ‘Setup
Wizard’.
5.1 SR1
• Plausibility check for download software (ODU V5) 5.1 SR2
• Upgrade of IDU-SW 43x to 5xx casually changes ATPC range
(min/max) by +5dB after activation of the new SW.
5.1 SR3
• The RX-level alarm was set to -73dBm (optimum value for 128QAM
systems). In the consequence an early RX level alarm occurs in 16
QAM systems. Now this threshold is correctly set to -79dBm.

4.3 Known bugs
Description Affected system
SW-download
A parallel software download via the QD2-Gateway (SG) isn’t successful.
Work around is to start one single SWDownload.Qd2 (SOA) only. In
consequence all mapped network elements to this session will be
downloaded consecutively.
Downgrade of ODU-SW 112 to 100 causes traffic interruption of 5min.
Reason: ODU boots in ‘RF-off’ mode and the default duration is set to
5min independent from the configured value.

Soft reset in 1+1 HSB
For 1+1 HSB systems working in automatic mode, a soft reset might
cause traffic interruptions due to initiated switching procedure. This effect
can be avoided by locking the RPS to the active transmission path using
the ‘forced OP’ or ‘forced PR’ command before starting a soft reset.
IDU with ODU LX only
RPS mode
QD2-interface
Due to high tolerances of different component charges the IDU internal
-5V may be shortened and the IDU fails. This occurs only in the special
configuration that the IDU operates in QD2 modes.
This behaviour is solved with ENU version 002 001
and ENU version 003 001 (see PCN 05AMK00246AAQ ZRA)

Alarm indication
The new alarm ‘Measurement threshold’ doesn’t support the Tx-level. All
remaining measurement values are fully supported.

4.4 Useful hints to release MDRS 4.x and 5.x
Description Affected subsystems
Transmit – and receive power
TX- and RX level values in the LMT are related to reference point A’/A by
using new ODU-S/EDM 18 GHz, 23 GHz, 26 GHz and 28GHz ; in case of
using ODU-N, ODU L or ODU LEX/LMX these values are related to
reference point C’/C.

Upgrade CR5.0/CR5.0SR1 -> CR5.1
To preserve ATPC/RTPC configuration after a system upgrade from
CR5.0/CR5.0SR1 to CR5.1 or 5.1SRx in systems with ODU LX the
following order must be followed:
1. ODU-SW download and activation
2. IDU-SW download and activation
(ATPC has to be enabled)
For a downgrade please use the reverse order.
SW CR5.0/CR5.0SR1 to CR5.1 or 5.1SRx
Activation of new ODU software
By switching over to the new ODU S software 201 following system
behaviour has to be expected.
Transmission path is OP
Activation of ODU software in PR: no switching of RF-switch
Activation of ODU software in OP: single switch over to PR with a
switching time less than 500 ms
Transmission path is PR
Activation of ODU software in OP: no switching of RF-switch
Activation of ODU software in PR: single switch over to OP with a
switching time less than 500 ms
The fall back from ODU SW 201 to ODU SW 100 or 111 leads to an
interruption of the data transmission of more than 500 ms.
LMT/SOA/ODU S 1+1 with RF-switch
QD2 bus cabling
Due to an assembly change it is necessary to terminate the QD2 bus with
a QD2 bus termination if the IDU operates as master.

4.5 Changes in the module alarm table (SOA)
4.5.1 Release 4.0
no changes
4.5.2 Release 4.1
no changes
4.5.3 Release 4.3
1 Subject Module name for modulator and demodulator is changed
Change activity
The previous name of the module modulator ‘Modulator 128QAM’ changed in ‘Modulator’. The previous name of this module demodulator ‘Demodulator 128QAM’ changed in ‘demodulator’
1.1
Reason for change
Since the new software version MDRS 155 S 4.3 covers IDU 155 S with modulation scheme of 16 QAM and 128 QAM the renaming was necessary.
2 Subject Module CPU
Change activity
The alarm ‘ungültige IDU-Adresse’ was cancelled. 2.1
Reason for change
The mis-configuration of the operation mode switch at the front side of the IDU 155 S is supervised by another alarm. On that reason this alarm indication was redundant.
2.2 Change activity
The alarm SW OP/PR inkompatibel ‘’ was added.
Reason for change
For a faultless operation of the system it’s necessary to run the same software version on the OP and PR channel. This alarm supervises the correct status.
3 Subject Module DPU
Change activity
The alarm ‘Funkseite J0 TIM’ was changed to ‘Funkseite J0-TIM (aktiver Kanal)’. The alarm ‘SES(B1)’ was changed to ‘Funkseite SES(B1)’ (aktiver Kanal)’
3.1
Reason for change
The JO-TIM and the SES(B1) are related to the SDH regenerator section: The protection switch status of the system (RF-Switch or RF-coupler) defines the active channel for J0-TIM and SES(B1) transmission..
4 Subject Module Demodulator
Change activity
The alarm ‘Taktueberwachung Leitung’ is cancelled. The alarm ‘Taktueberwachung Funk’ is renamed in ‘Taktueberwachung’.
4.1
Reason for change
An internal clock failure or a frequency drift is supervised in the demodulator in general. On this a clock alarm is indicated independent to the direction line or radio.
5 Subject Module ODU-S
Change activity
Crystal in warm-up phase alarm was added. Under extreme environmental conditions the crystal oscillator of the ODU may take some time to warm up. While this time a frequency accuracy may be out of the guaranteed values.
5.1
Reason for change
Expansion of the temperature range in operation to EN 300019-2-4 class 4.1E. The cold start phase may stimulate this alarm temporarily
Change activity
The alarm QAM-Modulation inkompatibel’ was added. Incompatible system hardware combination or hardware defects may lead to this alarm.
5.2
Reason for change
Due to the variants of ODUs and IDUs in the system family MDRS 155 S it may happen that an inappropriate system combination between IDU 155 S 16 QAM and ODU 128-S is selected. Exceptionally an ODU 128-EDM may not follow the configuration of the IDU due to an hardware defect. Both scenarios will lead to this alarm.
