Ambassador Massimo Roscigno Embassy of Italy 6 th floor Zeta Bldg., Salcedo St., Makati City Philippines Dear Ambassador Roscigno, It is with pleasure that I submit to you the report on the teaching and other academic performance of Prof. Emanuela Adesini, Visiting Professor of Italian at the Department of European Languages, College of Arts and Letters, University of the Philippines Diliman. Prof. Adesini has consistently displayed unwavering commitment and dedication to the promotion of the Italian language and culture from the start of her teaching career in the University, which I can attest to as her former student and present colleague. Aside from fulfilling her teaching responsibilities, her active collaboration with the Italian Section in monitoring class offerings has provided us with insights about registration trends in basic Italian courses. She has also collaborated with us in organizing the events for last November’s celebration of the Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo. Her contributions to the Orientation for Italian Majors and Minors last 27 June were also valuable and have increased the students’ interest in studying the language. Moreover, she also encourages students to participate in cultural events outside the University through the annual Silent Film Festival and Moviemov. She is also very involved with the UP Piccola Italia, the student organization dedicated to promoting the Italian language and culture. She has lent her continued support to the organization by generously offering her resources and ideas. On behalf of the Italian Section of the Department of European Languages, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude for granting her extension as a member of our faculty in the University.
