OSSGA Rehabilitation at Pits & Quarries: Planning for the ‘Above and Beyond’
2
DISCOVER ‘ABOVE AND BEYOND’
New this year is a full day workshop that focuses on best practices for planning and implementing rehabilitation that goes above and beyond the minimum standards required in the Aggregate Resources Act. Participants will share and expand best practices of rehabilitation and broaden their knowledge of the art of the possible.
Aggregate companies, consultants, students, environmental NGO’s, First Nations, Conservation Authorities, government officials and public sector employees are all encouraged to attend and share their knowledge of the rehabilitation industry. Learn from industry experts and find out the latest research practices from those in the field.
EXPLORE ‘ABOVE AND BEYOND’
Day two will feature a tour of regional sites that have both complete and in-progress rehabilitation. A coach will take you to sites that have been returned to agricultural land uses, recreational areas, and natural areas. You’ll see real examples of enhancing soil productivity, creating biodiversity, deep slope rehabilitation and rehabilitation using recycled materials.
