09:00 – 09:15 h Get Together, Introduction09:15 – 10:30 hHIMA PHOENIX CONTACT

Risk Assessment (Part 1)HAZOP (hazard and operability study) is a structured and systematic examination to identify risks. The usual methods used to quantify the necessary risk reduction (SIL evaluation) include a risk graph, risk matrix and LOPA. A risk matrix is a matrix that is used during risk assessment to define the various levels of risk as the product of the harm probability categories and harm severity categories. This hands on workshop is a practical approach and shows the methodology of the risk matrix. Simple determination of the SIL using the risk graph and the risk matrix.

10:30 – 11:00 h Break11:00 – 12:15 hHIMA PHOENIX CONTACT

Risk Assessment (Part 2)LOPA (Layers of protection analysis) is a powerful analytical tool to mitigate process risk. LOPA builds upon well-known process hazards analysis techniques, applying semi-quantitative measures to the evaluation of the frequency of potential incidents and the probability of failure of the protection layers. These hands on workshop will provide an overview of the LOPA process, highlighting the key considerations.

Calculation (Part 1)Prior to the actual workshop and hand on training, this session gives a more detailed overview on how to plan and calculate a safety loop according to IEC 61508/61511. Practical possibilities in how to optimise both, the sensor as well as the final element parts will be explained in detail. Possibilities for lengthening proof test intervals are also part of this session, covering online diagnostics and partial proof test capabilities of the components. Towards the end of the theoretical session, hints will be given how to combine safety loops with control functions.

10:30 – 11:00 h Break11:00 – 12:15 hKROHNESAMSONTÜV NORD

Calculation (Part 2)The second part of the workshop will involve the candidates directly and sample safety loops have to be calculated. Worksheets and training material is provided in order to grand full comprehension of the background as well as the safety loops and how to calculate failure rates, proof test intervals as well as specialties such as common cause failures, diagnostic coverage, etc.
