Purpose of SAM Camp

To save the lives and souls of our youth by sharing the love of Christ through science, arts, and math.

SAM Camp is designed to:

• Bring out and nurture the talents and abilities in each child

• Help kids see that all their talents and abilities come from the Lord

• Stimulate and encourage kids to be successful in the new school year

• Show that science, math, and art principles were created by God

• Provide a FUN, affordable educational experience

• Lavish the love of the Lord upon kids

• Point children to their Creator God

THE VISION

This is a divine call to the church. Our children, the Lord’s children, are in the grip of the enemy and He is calling them back to Himself.

God has given us a great responsibility to tend His sheep; He is now giving us a great opportunity to feed His lambs.

As Samuel provided the School of the Prophets, and as the early church taught reading with the scriptures, so He is calling us for science, arts, and math to be used to exalt the Lord.

And He is calling us to teach the parents to teach their children. A club will follow the camp and children will continue to learn science, arts, and math in His name, and parents will learn to mentor their children. Families will be saved and discipleship opportunities will open up.

• SAM Camp – last two weeks in July

• SAM Club – weekly, evening continuation of SAM Camp / help with homework

• Parents’ Club – weekly, same evening as SAM Camp; parents learn how to teach their children the truths of the Lord

Heed His call to unite and begin a great work. Do not despise the day of small beginnings. Trust the Lord. Unite!

History & Current Status• SAM Camp was originated in 2008 by a

group of Christians and churches in the Milpitas/San Jose area. 101 children attended with very positive feedback.

• It is a 2 week summer day camp for grade 1 to 12th kids in the local Milpitas/San Jose area

• Through science, arts, and math, taught from a Biblical worldview by Christian volunteers, kids will experience a time of love, fun, and learning.

• As of Mid June, 160 kids already enrolled for the 2009 SAM Camp. Need Volunteers!

Volunteers Needed – Teachers’ Aides• Assist Teacher during the classroom hour(s)

• Science, Math, and Sports classes are 50 min per session

• Art classes are two 50 min sessions

• Goal is to have 1 Teacher + 1 Teacher’s Aide per 15 students

• Students will be grouped by age, range from 1st to 12th graders

• Can commit to aid a certain block of hours between 9am-3pm

• By law, a standard background check will be conducted

• Volunteer Orientation: 7/14 Tue 7-9pm or 7/18 Sat 9-11am
