OVERVIEW OF THE RCPL PROGRAM
Degree Requirements The Master of Regional and City Planning (MRCP) requires two years
of full-time graduate study.
The heart of the planning degree is found in the 23-credit core curriculum that covers planning theories, models, and skills. – 21 credits are in selected concentration
• Breadth courses and depth courses
Students may choose to complete the degree through either (1) undertaking an approved concentration and passing a
comprehensive exam, or (50 credits total) (2) writing a thesis. (48 credits)

Internships • RCPL 6520 is a variable credit course (1-6) that
students may only register once for in their tenure in the program.
• To receive six internship credits, students are expected to complete 520 hours of internship work.
• Credit received will be prorated from the 520 hour figure.
