Performance Based Monitoring

Important to Remember

Key difference between

DVM And PBM

PBMAS indicators yield a definitive result.

DVM suggests an anomaly that needs to be reviewed to determine whether the anomalous data are accurate--- raising a red flag

• The 2013 student assessment data validation indicators are very similar to previous years’ indicators, with some minor changes.– A new indicator has been added

ASSESSMENT

Q: Are online TELPAS Reading rosters considered confidential & secure materials before or after proctor caching? (It lists PEIMS numbers and user id before proctor caching & adds authorization codes after). A: Yes to both.

Q: If a student’s years in schools was reported incorrectly last year, can we make a correction? This is not a recalculation based on 60 day rule, but a clerical error that that we’d like to resolve.A: Per TEA, you cannot correct last year, but enter the correct years this year and keep local documentation.

Q: A student eligible for special provisions has retested twice in English 1 EOC’s. However, the student has not earned credit for the 1st half of English 1 yet. Should the student retest in English 1 EOC once credit for the class has been earned (during fall 2014)?A: Since part of the provision is passing the class, the student would retest in the fall, after which (assuming credit is earned) he/she can take advantage of the provision and no longer retest.
