Solenoid Valve:-A solenoid is a simple form of an electromagnet consisting of a coil of insulated copper wire. A solenoid valve is an electromechanical valve frequently used to control the flow of liquid or gas.
Working of Solenoid valve:-1 When the solenoid coil is electrically energized, it produces
a magnetic field that attracts iron and many of its alloys.2 An iron armature or plunger is drawn up into the core of the
solenoid.3 A stem and pin or poppet attached to this plunger opens the
valve port.4 When the solenoid valve is de-energized, the plunger falls,
and the poppet closes the valve port.
Working of solenoid valve
Applications of solenoid valve:- used in fluid power pneumatic and
hydraulic systemsfluid power motors or larger industrial
valvesAutomatic irrigation sprinkler systems
Function:-Their function is simply to turn refrigerant flow on and off.
Automatic thermal Expansion Valve:-It is a device which work automatically, maintaining proper & correct liquid flows as per the condition of the load on the evaporator.
Operation of valve:-The pressure P1 in element acts to open the valve. The evaporator pressure P2 of the power element tending to close the valve. The pressore P3 of superheat spring also assist in closing action.
Now, if the power element P1 is greater than the combined pressureof P2 & P3, the valve will open.
Operation of valve
Automatic expansion valve:-
Functions:-• Is placed between the liquid line and the evaporator• To maintain a constant pressure and temperature.• Make sure the evaporator is fully charging the
refrigerant.
• Used in an A/C system to change the pressure of the refrigerant..
• Reduces the high pressure in the liquid line to low pressure in the evaporator.
