Movemement

1. Equal treatment of Filipinos and Spaniards under the rule of law;

2.Include the Philippines as one of Spain’s regions or provinces;

3.The Philippines should have a representative in the Cortes;

4. Secularization of Philippine parishes;

5. Grant the Filipinos freedom of speech, expression, assembly, and filing of complaint against abuse.

La Solidaridad

•It is the official newspaper of the Propaganda Movement.

•Its issues were published and released twice a month.

•Its maiden issue was released on Feb. 15 1889.

Goals:

•Facilitate political and social reforms through peaceful means;

•Expose the dreadful conditions of the Filipinos for Spain to address;

•Prevent nepotism and conservatism;

•Promote liberal thought and the nation’s progress; and

•Defend the genuine aspiration of Filipinos for democracy and a peaceful life.
