Rodolfo Brandon Bernardino Ms. Schofield LA11 P7 1/17 Reflective Essay I was able to connect with the philosophies of Thoreau, King, and Gandhi as the class progressed through the book. The focus on nonviolence was very interesting, with the methods of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. shown as examples. Civil disobedience was very prevalent in our reading. I agreed completely with all three of the men’s views on Civil Disobedience. The philosophies and views on intuition were also very relatable to my life. The readings provided with a wealth of viewpoints that made me contemplate my own ethics. I found that most of the viewpoints of Thoreau, King, and Gandhi were fun to understand The concept of nonviolence was always taught during my years at elementary and middle school. Our studies in class supplemented to my previous knowledge of the concept. I

concept. I enjoyed studying King’s “Letter From Birmingham City Jail”. I found many

similarities between King and Gandhi.
