Wed. 10/26/2016 The greatest obstacle/challenge that I had to overcome during my practicum was students’ behavior and lack of attention. The first classes I could control the classroom and work with them very well but in the last ones it was harder to do it, because of the fact that they all talked at the same time without paying attention to me. The areas that I have to improve were the use of my voice, which was too low and students could not hear and understand me and also my role as a pedagogical partner. At the beginning, my partner and I did not know that we have to be “active” as pedagogical partners. We thought that we do not have to interfere when one of us was teaching. The classes that I enjoyed the most was the very first one because of the fact that pupils were expectant of “their new teacher” and predisposed to do all that I ordered them to do. And the other class that I also liked was the last one as it was the last time I was going to see them and be with them in school. The instances of motivation that I could observe were when we watched videos, they did pay attention to them and they seemed to be interested. I think that team work with my partner was all right. Everything was positive because we complement each other. When Marianela was weak in a certain point I could help her and we could solve the problem and the other way around too. I would recommend working with a pedagogical partner because of the fact that this subject and especially the practicum require a lot of extra time besides the time that we spend in the subject at the University. So, working with a partner makes it a little bit more relieved. My feelings when I started the practicum were fear, uncertainty, expectation, excitement and nerves. My feelings when I finished the practicum were relief, comfort, gratification, joy. But at the same time I was a little bit sad as I was not going to see and be able to teach those students any more. About being observed I felt nervous but it was useful as we could see, understand and improve our mistakes in teaching. I could understand the comments in the observation grid, they were clear. About the conference with trainers after the class I think that yes, they were useful although we had already received everything written down in observation grids. Office hour were useful, especially when we did not have idea of what activities to do in some lesson plans. I felt accompanied by teacher trainers and also by mentor teacher because when we needed something like teachers book, the syllabus, etc she gave them to us.

Last narrative. Reflection on my Practicum.

Wed. 10/26/2016

The greatest obstacle/challenge that I had to overcome during my practicum was students’ behavior and lack of attention.  The firstclasses I could control the classroom and work with them very well but in the last ones it was harder to do it, because of the factthat they all talked at the same time without paying attention to me.

The areas that I have to improve were the use of my voice, which was too low and students could not hear and understand me andalso my role as a pedagogical partner. At the beginning, my partner and I did not know that we have to be “active” as pedagogicalpartners. We thought that we do not have to interfere when one of us was teaching.

The classes that I enjoyed the most was the very first one because of the fact that pupils were expectant of “their new teacher” andpredisposed to do all that I ordered them to do.  And the other class that I also liked was the last one as it was the last time I wasgoing to see them and be with them in school.

The instances of motivation that I could observe were when we watched videos, they did pay attention to them and they seemed tobe interested.

I think that team work with my partner was all right. Everything was positive because we complement each other. When Marianelawas weak in a certain point I could help her and we could solve the problem and the other way around too. I would recommendworking with a pedagogical partner because of the fact that this subject and especially the practicum require a lot of extra timebesides the time that we spend in the subject at the University. So, working with a partner makes it a little bit more relieved.

My feelings when I started the practicum were fear, uncertainty, expectation, excitement and nerves. My feelings when I finishedthe practicum were relief, comfort, gratification, joy. But at the same time I was a little bit sad as I was not going to see and be ableto teach those students any more.

About being observed I felt nervous but it was useful as we could see, understand and improve our mistakes in teaching. I couldunderstand the comments in the observation grid, they were clear. About the conference with trainers after the class I think thatyes, they were useful although we had already received everything written down in observation grids.

Office hour were useful, especially when we did not have idea of what activities to do in some lesson plans. I felt accompanied byteacher trainers and also by mentor teacher because when we needed something like teachers book, the syllabus, etc she gave themto us.
