RFI Log - Project #901661

RFI No. Question Response

1

Specification Section 10 1100 - Drawing G-001;A201: 'The elevation drawings

lists VDS-1 and VDS-2 but there is nothing on the finish schedule or

specifications that differentiate what the difference is between the two are.

Please clarify.

VDS-2 IS THE TACKABLE WALL PANEL SHOWN ON B6, DRAWING SHEET A-201 &

AND A-602. Not to be confused with Division 09 7700 Fabric covered Wall systems,

which are noted as AFB-1 on a-602 and A-201

2

Specification Section 10 1100: The basis of design product listed for the

tackboards (ENZO Tackboard Panels) does not match the thickness as listed

on the drawings. The drawings are calling for a thicker project. Please advise.

Enzo Tack board panels have been removed from specifications and have been

replaced.

3

There are various problems with the technical specifications. These problems

include multiple and differing list of drawings & visual display specifications

spread throughout the project manual and specifications that are out of order

when compared to the table of contents. Please review and provide a clean,

revised project manual asap.

SPECIFICATIONS have been corrected and Project manual is attached as part of

Addendum 1.

4Drawing G-004 makes reference to A5/A-112. This Drawing does not appear to

be part of the set. Please provide.

THE DRAWING IS FOR FF& E COORDINATION OF UCONN PURCHASE AND FINAL

INSTALLATION. NOT FOR GC BIDDING PURPOSES.

5

Can the following information be provided on the freight elevator: Height and

width of door opening and the dimensions of cab (width, depth, and height)

and weight limit.

Yes, It has been added to the Project Manual as part of the Appendix

6

There are two specifications for visual display boards (101100). Both seem to

match for the glass marker boards. However, the tackboards are different,

Please advise which spec is correct.

There are Glass Marker boards- VS-1, TACK WALL PANEL - VS-2 AND Division 09

7700 Fabric covered Wall systems, which are noted as AFB-1 on a-602 and A-201.

The updated specification is 10110, dated 6/6/2019 as part of Addendum 1.

7

A previous bid at this building had the following regarding the Telecomm

work. Please confirm if these requirements are the same for this project:

Telecomm contractor required to Hubbell Certified Installer, Wires to be white,

1 -5' patch cord per WAP and 1 - 5' patch cord per cable installed, and General

Contractor TeleComm subcontractor to terminate the cabling at the two new

patch panels being provided by this subcontractor in Room TR-48.

Telecom contractor required to be Hubbell Certified Installer per Section 271513.

Wires to be white, 2-5' patch cords per WAP, 1-5' patch cord per cable installed in IDF

Room, and 1-7' patch cord per cable installed for work area outlets per section

271619. Cabling shall terminate at Room TR-4B.

8

This finish schedule indicates EzoBoard as a manufacturer for AFB-1, however

specification 097700 does not list this manufacturer. Is this a typo and only the

manufacturers listed in the spec should be considered?

Enzo Tack board panels have been removed from drawing and have been replaced.

9

Regarding the finish schedule: MWB-1 indicates to reference 096800, however

there is no data on this base, please provide. Also, Room 313 indicates

flooring is SC-1. According to G-001, SC-1 is sheet carpeting and the only

flooring specifications is for the carpet tile. Please advise.

Sheet A602 is re-issued with correct abbreviations

10

Regarding interior elevations: Elevations indicate VDS-1 & VDS-2. G-001

indicates these are visual display boards however the visual display board

specs do not have VDS-1 & VDS-2. Please advise what type of visual display

boards these Tags are. Also, Elevations show WS-1 & WS-2 that these Tags

are not defined on the drawings. Are these the window shades that are

specified in 122400?

a) Now in specifications and drawings updated. b) see previous answer c) WS-1 &

WS-2 are window shades specified in 122400

11

Regarding G-002, Opening 124: The door is bubbled and indicates to see

B1/A6-01. This detail is for a door jamb. Is there a different detail showing a

large plan view of the work at this opening? Also, there are two tags, C7 &

F2.01, pointing to this opening but they are not defined. Please advise.

DRAWING HAS BEEN UPDATED AND PART OF ADDENDUM 2. The tags are included

and detail updated.

1. The intent of the Contract Documents is to include all items necessary for the proper execution and completion of all Work by the Contractor. The Contract Documents are complementary, and what is required by one shall be as binding as if required by all. Where a conflict within the Contract Documents exists, the Contractor shall provide the better quality or greater quantity of work in accordance with the Architect's resolution without any increase in the Contract sum. Organization of the Specifications into divisions, sections and articles, and arrangement of sheets shall not control the Contractor in dividing the work among subcontractors, or in establishing the extent of Work to be performed by any trade.

2. REFERENCE KEY NOTES and SHEET KEY NOTES are intended to indicate and clarify the extent and requirements of the Work; they do not indicate every location or occurence of required Work. The lack of a key note to an individual item of Work will not relieve the Contractor of responsibility to execute that Work as part of the Contract when the requirement for that Work can be logically inferred by other parts of the Contract Documents

3. Do not scale drawings, except for estimation and approximation purposes.

4. This is an existing building; all conditions and critical dimensions must be field verified.
