Karen Robins Academic Supervisor- TR Program Mohawk College September 2011 To whom it may concern, This letter of reference is in regards to Lacie-dawn Dearsley. It comes with my full confidence, and high recommendation, in her choice of career path in the caring of vulnerable individuals. I supervised Lacie-dawn for 8 months, during her second year practicum of the Therapeutic Recreation program at Mohawk College (Hamilton, Ontario). Lacie-dawns academic responsibilities during her practicum included consistent communication with me and the submission of 7 assignments. In regards to communication, Lacie-dawns maturity was evident in both the written and in- person format; always using a clear and professional tone. In regards to her assignments, her marks were a reflection of her thoroughness and foresight into the needs and care of her clients. For the last assignment students were expected to conduct a final presentation to both me and the supervisor of the agency where they did their practicum. Lacie-dawns presentation was professional and well graded. But most importantly she involved her clients by inviting them to participate. This demonstrated such person centered care that it solidified my confidence that the field of TR is better with her as a part of it. I wish Lacie-dawn all the best and look forward her to thriving in this field. Sincerely, Karen Robins Karen Robins [email protected]
