Reducing Your Waste

Buy in bulk

• Packaging and food containers make up the largest component of municipal solid waste!

• One 10-pound container of rice is naturally going to use less packaging than five 2-pound containers of rice

Use reusable containers

• Bring your reusable mug to the coffee shop instead of getting a paper one every time!

• Get beers on tap instead of the bottle

Choose items with recyclable packaging

• When you’re buying something, look at the container!

• Recycling paper tends to be easier than plastic, so get cardboard when you can

Go for !paperless !billing

• Use paperless billing and pay your utilities online

If you end up printing, do double-sided

• Printing on both sides halves how many resources you use and the waste you produce!

• If possible, share something online instead of printing it
