Focus of Presentation

• Provide information on forthcoming works (4x29hr weekend possessions & 8 week blockade).

• Advise what alternative transport arrangements are proposed whilst the train service is disrupted.

• Meeting will not centre on previous complaints – purpose is to be “informative”.

Scheme Details• Install a 3km length of passing loop between Alvechurch and Redditch• Aim to increase capacity on the Redditch Branch Line from 2 to 3 trains per

hour

Blockade Works• Install new signal panel at Saltley PSB• Removal of 72 no. OLE gantries & cantilevers• Removal of 85 no. existing OLE foundations• Relay 1500m of existing track on Down Line• Slew 1700m of existing track on Down Line• Install new 3000m track.• Install S&C (2no.) • 10 no. engineering trains• 12 no. tamping shifts• Install 116 no. OLE gantries - 7900m of wire runs• Install signalling equipment • Install CCTV, PA systems, CIS etc at Station• Testing & commissioning• Open Line & Station
