The Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida’s mission is to keep families close.

When a family has a sick child at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, it is our goal to provide all the

comforts of home, so families can focus on the important things: the health and well-being of their child.

At Ronald McDonald House, families have access to safe housing, homemade meals, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, and much more—all with a warm and friendly environment created by our volunteers and staff. We

aim to provide more than a place to rest, but a place of comfort where families experiencing similar hardships can

connect and draw strength from one another. With only a 31-room house, Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida has had the opportunity to

serve more than 31,000 families while still maintaining a waitlist of roughly 615 families a year. On average,

a family that stays in our House is with us for 46 nights. While we are doing all we can to serve 31 families a

night, there is still the impending need to do more.

As we look to the future, we will continue to explore opportunities to broaden our reach by expanding our

House. The number of families in need of support is always increasing with the ever-growing preeminent

doctors, nurses, and research at the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. Our House is looking to increase

our capacity by 40 rooms, an additional kitchen, family spaces, and conference rooms. We rely solely on the support of our community and the generous

gifts of individuals and companies in our area.
