Principal’s Report: End Of Year Concert:
Parents and community
members are asked to note the
new date for the Red Cliffs
Primary School End of Year
Concert. The concert will
now be held on Monday 15th
December.
As always, the Red Cliffs
Lions Club will be cooking a
barbeque tea (available from
5.30pm) prior to our concert.
Final details will be published
closer the date.
Grade 3/4 Camp:
The 2014 Grade 3/4 Camp
commences tomorrow,
Thursday 30th October.
Our grade 3/4 students will
tour the “Red Cliffs” before
travelling to Mildura for a
mystery activity. After
enjoying lunch at Apex Park
they will travel to Wentworth
to visit the gaol and the
junction.
The students will then travel to
a Mildura Caravan Park for a
restful night’s sleep.
Parents must collect their
children at 1.00pm on Friday.
Children who are bus
travellers will be supervised
until 3.15pm
Grade 2 Sleepover:
Grade 2 students will enjoy a
sleepover at school on
Thursday.
Children will go home as usual
after school on Thursday.
After showering and changing
they should return to school at
6.00pm ready for a night of
pizza, fun and sleep
(hopefully).
Parents must collect their grade
2 child at 1.00pm Friday. Bus
travellers will be supervised
until 3.15pm.
I sincerely thank all staff for so
willingly giving up their time
to make the grade 3/4 camp
and the grade 2 sleepover
possible.
Reminders:
Parents/carers are reminded
Monday 3rd November is a
Pupil Free Day. All staff will
be at school undertaking a
professional learning
programme in Maths.
Tuesday 4th November is the
Melbourne Cup Public
Holiday.
Students do not come to school
on Monday 3rd or Tuesday 4th
November.
Enjoy the extra long weekend!
Enrolments:
Parents are asked to remind
neighbours/friends and
relatives that enrolments for next
year are still being
accepted.
It is essential for planning
purposes that enrolments are
finalised as soon as possible.
Prep enrolments are high for this
time of the year.
It is most likely that there will be
four infant grades in 2015, all
with very small class sizes. We
are also planning on having an
additional senior grade in 2015.
It is important that parents
advise the school as soon as
possible if they know their
children will not be attending
Red Cliffs Primary School next
year.
School Council:
Members are reminded the next
School Council meeting will be
held on Wednesday 12th
November.
Swimming:
Students in grades 2-4 will be
participating in their Intensive
Swimming Programme next
week. Our students will be
travelling to the Mildura Waves
Pool on Wednesday, Thursday
and Friday.
Have a great week!

Aysha, Hannah, Holly, Cassie and Lucy
play a maths game with Hula Hoops .
They put a piece of paper with a number on
it in every hoop. As they hop in each hoop
they use the number to make a maths
problem. At the end they see how many
they have made.
Lauren, Jonty, Noah and Eva find
using multiplication cards lots of fun. It is a good way to learn their times tables and a great way to develop their multiplication skills. Lots of people can play the one game. They co-operate and play by
the rules.
Harvey, Emrich, Jy and Molly use Mathletics on the iPads to practise their maths skills. Multiplication,
regrouping, rounding off and
telling the time are their favourite activities. They work on their own or with a partner.
Here are some of the fun ways
children in 2V practise the skills
they have learned in Maths .
Katie, Kyron, Erica, Sina and Dylan
use MAB blocks to help them solve number problems. They like to use these blocks because they can see what hundreds, tens and ones look
like. If they want to add or subtract they can just move the MAB blocks
around to help them work out the answer. They can see what happens as they solve the problem.
