Like everybody else,

I have lots of old

business cards lying

around and don’t

quite know what

to do with them


Box Made From Old Business Cards

Recycle old business

cards and make a

box to store trinkets

or business cards



All that’s needed

to make the

recycled box

are

19 Business Cards



I have used 3 different colored

business cards for the instructions

to make it easier to follow



Place 2 business cards facedown,

centered on top of each other



Fold the bottom card

over the top card on one side



Fold up

the second side



Turn cards over and repeat the

previous two steps



Fold all the remaining

cards the same way



Take a 3rd card and

slide it under the 2 flaps

on one side



Lift up the card and

tuck it under

on the other side



This is how

one segment

now looks

The segments are

the building blocks for the box



Arrange four segments

like this



Slide each flap into

the opening of the next segment



If it is difficult to slide the two segments

together, cut 1/8 inch off one flap

so that one flap is longer



Start with the longer side and then

shorter side is easier to push in



This is the box

without a bottom or top



For the bottom add a 4th card

slip the card under the top card



Tuck in the top card again

This segment has now four flaps

rather than two like the side segments

To attach the bottom:

Tuck one flap into an opening

Don’t push it all the way down



Push the two side flaps a little bit

into the side openings



Stick the forth flap into the

remaining opening of the cube



Gently push down on the bottom

so that all flaps are fully in

Turn the box over to attach lid



The top of the box has 2 small gaps

as there are only 2 flaps and

not 4 like on the bottom



The box can be decorated

any way you wish

This is a stenciled box without a lid



This box is painted with colored pencils

and coated with water-based varnish
