THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT DECEMBER 17, 2017 PG. 3

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

“Maranatha”: I am sure all of are familiar with this word! We hear it in our hymns and in our readings,

especially during this season of Advent. It stands for two Aramean / Aramaic words, Maran'athah, meaning, "our Lord

comes," or is "coming." Our students sing a Hymn before they begin classes both in the School and the Religious

Education program by this name: “The Whole Word is Waiting For You, Lord.” The chorus verse is: “Come down

Lord Jesus, Come quickly Lord. The whole world is waiting for your love”. It is such beautiful hymn describing how

we long for the coming of the Lord Jesus. Please ask your children to sing it for you! You will definitely like it.

This past Sunday we put out some 500 flyers with some pertinent information that our office requires to

update our records. As it clearly said, it was just for updating our database. One of the subjects was how to go online

to have your weekly sacrificial offerings automatically deducted every week without any effort on your part. We also

gave the link how to do it for those wish to do so. From the first of November 2017 our parish pay collecting com-

pany switched hands. If you are already with parish pay and you would like to update or give a family e-mail on file,

please contact them at 1-800-950-9952. If you are new to the Parish and would like to use this method of remittance

please go to 4lpi.com/welcome-parishpay and follow the instructions. Of course, if you are having difficulty with this

you can contact them at the above telephone number asking for customer service to assist you.

As a member of the Parish Community, I ask that if you know of anyone on your block or neighborhood who

needs to register/update their information in the parish. please pass the information to them and tell them to come to the

rectory. The office staff will be happy to help you. Please feel free to call the office for any clarification.

On another note, I must tell you that some parishioners have said that they would volunteer their time and talent

to help us to keep abreast with social media. They will work along with us here at the rectory , and be rest assured we

exercise maximum security and confidentiality in doing so. We will continue to work diligently behind the scenes to

keep you updated on any upcoming events and information for our OLHC Web page.

This year , December 25th Christmas is on a Monday. On Sunday, Dec. 24th the Mass schedule will be as fol-

lows; 8:00 am, 10:00am,.12:00pm,. The Christmas Vigil Masses begin at 4:30pm as well as 8:00 pm Family Vigil

Mass, and 12:00 Midnight Mass. On Monday, Christmas day the Masses are as follows: 8:00 am, 10:00 am and 12:00

pm. There is no Spanish Mass neither Christmas or New Years.

I know this week will be filled with lot of activities: the Annual Christmas Pageant , the collection for Toys for

Tots that is still on-going, the Christmas Outreach Giving Tree ; gifts are due today, The School and the Religious Edu-

cation Programs are having their own can food drive, and be sure that one program may overlap on another, but our

main focus is Jesus who came down to show us that all of us are one parish family.

As mentioned above, at 3PM we will be once again witnessing the Christmas pageant presented by the children

of the parish and assisted by Children’s Choir. Come join us in this blessed event!

For the Christmas Mass schedule, please see Page 4 of this bulletin and keep this handy so that you can

pass the Mass times to those in your household and friends. Lastly, but importantly, I wish to thank all of you who

generously donated toward the Christmas flowers. It is because of your donations that we are able to beautify the

Church for the Celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

May God bless you. Fr. Frank

Happy Gaudette Sunday! The third week of

Advent is here and we are in the last week before

Christmas. May God Bless your families as you

prepare!

Our Christmas Pageant is being held today at 3:00

PM in the church. Thank You to the Children's

Choir, and Patricia Calabrese who always do such a

wonderful job with the music. I also want to Thank

the children who are participating in the Pageant.

Without you our Christmas Pageant would not be

possible. The children have been working hard re-

hearsing, and are looking forward to our perform-

ance.

My prayer for all our families is that we take a little

time this week to slow down. During the Christmas

rush it is sometimes easy to become overwhelmed.

Sing a carol together, or light the Advent Wreath in

your home every night at dinner. It is a way to slow

down and remember the reason for the season.

May God Bless you always,
