The theme of the 6th week of Arise is
“Christ lives in me.” Read along with
the small Arise communities Acts of the
Apostles 9: 1-22. The risen Jesus goes to
meet Paul. Paul’s life is transformed. Paul from then on
lives with Christ. Pray to be aware and conscious of
Christ in your life. Thank Christ who is alive in you.
Election Day: "We need to participate for the common
good. Sometimes we hear: a good Catholic is not
interested in politics. This is not true: good Catholics
immerse themselves in politics by offering the best of
themselves so that the leader can govern." - Pope Francis,
September 16, 2013.
Veterans Day: Friday, November 11, is a federal
holiday. The parish office will be closed for the holiday.
Our Lady of Divine Providence is the Patroness of
Puerto Rico. The diocesan celebration of O.L. of
Divine Providence will take place in the upper
church of our Basilica on Saturday, November 19,
at 7:00 PM. All are invited to participate.
The public phase of the campaign
has come to a close. Many
parishioners are still making their
pledge. The pledge forms can be
placed in the Saturday-Sunday collection, or dropped
off at the rectory. Many thanks to all who are
participating by your sacrificial gifts and by your
prayer for the success of Generations of Faith.
The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry for the month of
November will be open on Saturdays, November 5th
and 12th, from 10:30 AM - 12 PM. Any questions
concerning eligibility for the pantry should be directed
to Sister Lucille at 347-603-3738.
Bible Study and Faith Sharing: Come and join Father
McDonald in a group that seeks to know the scriptures
and to share their faith. This class meets every Monday
in the Parish Center at 7:30 PM.
Last weekend there were 2,891 people
who came to OLPH for the celebration of
the Eucharist. The total collection was
$11,531.82. Thank you for your
generosity in supporting our parish community. In the
name of the God who will not be undone in generosity,
