To accomplish these goals, Attero offers various services to the electronics industry including customized end to end solutions for e-waste management, electronics asset recovery, data security and electronics reverse logistics along with repair, refurbishment and retailing of electronics. 14 15. History Of Attero B. Tech in electrical engineering from IIT-Delhi and MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, Nitin Gupta founded Attero Recycling in 2007 with his younger brother Rohan to provide an eco-friendly solution to the global electronic waste problem. The first company in India for e-waste recycling, Attero means waste in Latin. Attero established research relationships with foreign partners and also with IIT-Roorkee and has the capacity to process more than 3,000 tonnes of e-waste annually. 15 16. BOARD OF DIRECTORS Nitin Gupta(B.Tech&MBA) Rohan Gupta(B.E.) Dr. Kumar Shiralagi(MS E.E) Sameet S. Mehta Mohanjit Jolly 16 17. CORE TEAM Dr. Saurabh Gupta, Chief Financial Officer. Praveen Bhargava, Director R&D. Pranamesh Das, Director Technology. Lt. Col DB Chhetri, Head - Administration & Security, Arijit Das, Vice President - Marketing and Sourcing. Lakshmi Pillai, Vice President - Supply Chain Solutions 17 18. Atteros Goals Making the world a greener and safer place for future generations Increasing the value of all electronics inventory, whether its end of life electronics or surplus/seconds inventory Developing and applying top of the line technology and engineering for a more sustainable eco-system Achieving leadership in ethical, safe and compliant e- waste management, recycling and disposal. 18 19. Mission Of Attero To become a leader in recycling e-waste and resolve the e-waste crisis in the most efficient and environmentally sound way. 19 20. Companys Vision To reduce the risks faced by the society at large, due to the burden on the environment, resulting from unsafe e- waste handling. To make e-cycling the norm. To propagate ecological sustainability initiatives and help our clients give back - to us and to nature 20 21. Values We believe in the intrinsic value of objects, we believe in their inner worth. Where everybody sees waste, we see a potential - The potential of life. We e-cycle and give the obsolete electricals a new life and a new function - that of saving the Earth, from landfills, pollution, depletion of resources and deforestation. The values by which we live our lives today, will determine whether we are able to make the 21st century "a Century of the Environment and turn our society into a sustainable one. We are determined to make every effort to establish an environmentally sound nation, in which each one of us can realise 21 22. RECYCLINGPROCESS First Stage - Manual segregation of components, where different parts of E-waste are separated. Second Stage - The mechanical separation process is applied. In this process, ferrous, aluminum, plastic and non ferrous material are initially separated Third Stage - The plastics are then recycled by Attero Groups innovative plastics recycling process which further processes the plastic. Fourth Stage - The non-ferrous metals are sent to Atteros metallurgical treatment plant where the non-ferrous metals are separated into constituent metals. This allows Attero Recycling to achieve higher efficiency and exceed recycling and recovery rates across the different categories. This is an indigenously developed process by Attero, a pioneer in transforming non-recyclable plastic to carbon black. 22 23. Research & Development Attero Recycling has a research and development wing which is continuously working on enhancing the recycling process. Batch sampling is done on a continuous basis allowing us to analyze the substances and materials from the product streams, which have environmental impact in downstream processes. This also helps the R&D team to make the process more efficient. 23 24. Follow the mantra of the 3 Rs-Reduce, Reuse, Recyclein Attero Reduce-Reduce the amount of e-waste that you could accumulate by being reasonable when going for a purchase. With the major electronic brands dishing out upgrade after upgrade, tempting you to repeat a purchase that you might have not needed in the first place, your only chance to save the world is by not falling for traps called planned obsolesce 24 25. Reuse: what you can't Reduce With technologys life cycle being on a continuous shrink, and it becoming redundant almost every 2 years, its no surprise that over 50 million tonnes of E-waste is generated globally. If only we would donate our outdated electronics to better use, we could effectively increase the redundancy cycles, hence increasing the over-all life. Giving another life to our electronics is a huge step in helping bring down the heap of E-waste. 25 26. Recycle: what you can't Reuse With the evolving lifestyle on the personal and business landscape heavily dependent on technology, E-waste only becomes corollary to the way we live. While it might not be possible wish away this vice, but it surely helps, if we, as informed and concerned citizens of the environment, ensure our used electronics only end up with authorized recycling vendors. 26 27. Data Collection/Analysis The data collected contains primary data and secondary data. The primary data has been collected mainly by interviewing and also observation and audit. Secondary data has been obtained from published journals, company broachers, books, internet, etc.The sample was therefore chosen as it portrays the needs of the researchers 27 28.
