ABOUT USGlobally cooking with wood kills roughly three times as many people each year as traffic accidents –with the majority of fatalities being women. The market potential for clean cooking is in the billions, and we will continue to trail-blaze to ensure biogas is an integral part of reaching that potential.

ATEC* Biodigesters International (ATEC*) started in 2009 as a project between Engineers Without Borders and Live & Learn Environmental Education, working on energy and agricultural needs of rural households around in Cambodia. From our humble beginnings, ATEC* is now an award winning social enterprise start-up that produces, sells and distributes patented world-leading small-scale biodigester systems for developing country households.

Our ATEC* biodigesters converts animal, green and kitchen waste into biogas for cooking and organic fertilizer for farming. It is a high quality scalable product that to date has sold over 1,300 units across Cambodia and we have just launched the world’s first patented payment platform for biodigesters. Our unique selling proposition is a high quality, high value biodigester package with exceptional after sales service.

At 40 staff internationally and following our Series B capital raise, ATEC* is entering the next exciting phase of expanding this technology across Asia (see 2030 vision here). ATEC is recruiting a Country Director specifically for Bangladesh to set up and grow new business operations. For more information, check out our video here.

ATEC* has now launched the World’s first PAYGO-enabled biodigesters, which allows farmers across the country to pay off the system in manageable monthly repayments.

Your challenge as a Country Director will be to draw on your experience and creativity to:• establish and grow business operations and presence across Bangladesh• deliver an ambitious growth strategy that will enable ATEC* to reach 10,000 annual sales by

2024• deliver positive health and economic benefits for families across Bangladesh, making a

significant impact towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

RESPONSIBILITIESYou will use your formidable skills to: • Set-up new business operations in Bangladesh• Develop and implement strategy• Build the operational structures and “ways of working” leveraging best practice from our

other ATEC* business units• Motivate, mentor, guide and inspire the new team• Lead a positive and effective organisational culture that is One Team, Continuous Learning,

Goal Orientated.• Manage the in-country key stakeholder relationships, including investors• Grow brand recognition across Bangladesh• Cost-effectively manage and de-risk the supply chain• Oversee profitability of business operations in Bangladesh• Hold consistent communications with ATEC International CEO and Board

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:• Alignment with and commitment to personally uphold ATEC* mission, vision and values• Extensive practical experience in relevant business leadership and managing a successful

business• Broad experience in most of the following areas: business strategy, financial management,

human resource management, sales and marketing, supply-chain logistics, quality control and customer care

• Strong track record of developing and delivering an ambitious strategy to set-up and grow a business within a complex setting

• Experience living and working in Bangladesh, or similar• Ability to coach and mentor others, and foster a positive organisational culture• Networks across business and government sectors in Bangladesh• Excellent spoken and written English is a must• Excellent spoken and written Bengali is viewed favourably• Bangladeshi Nationals are encouraged to apply

TERMS AND CONDITIONSPosition• Reports directly to the CEO of ATEC International (based out of Australia)• Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh• 2 year initial full-time contract, with potential to extend to 3 years and beyond • Regular travel within Bangladesh and occasional international travel

CompensationCompensation will depend on your experience and qualifications. Your package will provide for a safe, comfortable lifestyle in Bangladesh.Incentives for excellent performance and Employee Share Scheme will be included.
