What Recruitment is all about?A process of ‘Searching for’ & ‘Obtaining’
Applicants for jobs, ‘From among Whom Right People’ can be SELECTED.
Recruitment is discovering of potential applicants for actual or anticipated organizational vacancies.
Importance of Recruitment◊ Attract and encourage more and more candidates to
apply in the organization.◊ Create a talent pool of candidates to enable the
selection of best candidates for the organization.◊ Determine present and future requirements of the
organization in conjunction with its personnel planning and job analysis activities.

applicants) with requisite qualifications & competence to fill jobs in Organisation.
Selection seeks to eliminate as many Unqualified. The key to employee selection is ‘to chose those who are most likely to Perform their jobs with maximum effectiveness & tend to remain with the Organisation.’

MEANING It is an activity of establishing contact between employers and applicants.
It is a process of picking up more competent and suitable employees.
OBJECTIVE It encourages large number of Candidates for a job.
It attempts at rejecting unsuitable candidates.
PROCESS It is a simple process. It is a complicated process.
HURDLES The candidates have not to cross over many hurdles.
Many hurdles have to be crossed.
APPROACH It is a positive approach. It is a negative approach.
SEQUENCE It proceeds selection. It follows recruitment.
ECONOMY It is an economical method. It is an expensive method.
TIME CONSUMING
Less time is required. More time is required.
