What is recount text?

Recount text is used to tell past events such as holiday experiences, accident, activity report, etc. It seems similar with anecdote, but anecdote is used to tell somethings that is funny and entertaining.

Recount text can be in the form of dialogues, written text, or throught pictures. We usually found recount text in someone’s biography. It tells of past events. So, use Past Tense or Past Continuous Tense to compose our recount text

Example of recount text

I remember the time when I played badminton with my

classmate, Schwenzenegger. He was very keen on badminton so we played it day and night. That was the time he got so mad at me too.

It happened when we took a break in a cafetaria. I put his

racquet in a chair, but then I forgot and left it in the cafetaria. When I went back to get it, it was gone.

Schwenzenegger was furious with me. The racquet was his beloved

one.Schwenzenegger was so angry

and upset that he did’nt speak to me for three days.
