Recordist Training Report from Togo, Africa. March/April 2017 Global Recordings Network UK. Charity no: 266476
Hi there and hope you are well. Here's a short report of my recent trip to Lome, Togo in Africa.
I had never known much about Togo & was excited to go there & meet the people. I was helping
with the up-grade training of some of
our recordists from Africa. They were
Joshua & Edward from Nigeria, Moses &
David from Sierra Leone, Justin from
Cameroon & Atta from Togo. Also part
of our training team were supervisors
Frederick from Sierra Leone & James
from Kenya. The other teachers were
Jon from Thailand & Anton from South
Africa. The temperature was in the high
30s for much of our time & quite humid.
It was a very busy time with the students very
keen to learn new skills & techniques to comply
with our Global Recordings Network recording
standards. We focused a lot on the practical
field recording work, computer editing & pro-
gramming. We also spent lots of time on paper-
work & documentation for newly recorded lan-
guages, for submitting to the GRN Studios.
Fellowship times every morning were great with
singing in many different languages & sharing testimony's each day. We know how difficult it can
be as a recordist missionary going into many difficult & dangerous situations that the enemy
doesn't always like. Yes there is a spiritual battle going on to keep people in darkness. The re-
cordists are often on the sharp end of these attacks of the enemy. That's why prayer & encour-
agement are essential for our teams from our prayer partners & supporters. Please pray for all
our recording teams & the work they do.
Some ladies & kids going to church.
In between lessons in the sunshine.
We attended a lovely African style church & loved the beautiful singing, dancing & the
amazing colours all the people wear. They welcomed us so warmly & Jon our co-ordinator
preached & shared with the people about the work of GRN.
We are very thank-
ful to John the
Togo director & his
wife Yolande for
the wonderful hos-
pitality that they &
their team showed
us.
On our final eve-
ning in Lome, we
had a great cele-
bration graduation-
for all the students & soon it was all over & we began to get ready to fly home to our own
countries. It was a blessed time. Thank you for praying & thinking of us while we were away.
One of our students while given his testimony shared from Jeremiah 1 v 4-8. “Before I
formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you
as a prophet to the nations....You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I
command you...” GRN. ”Telling the Story of Jesus in Every Language”. God Bless you.
