a. The Napili Kai Beach Resort, Napili, Maui - since October 2003, there have been regular Wednesday night Slack Key shows: The Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert Series. Occasionally they feature other traditional Hawaiian music (steel guitar, falsetto vocals, or ‘ukelele). The original location was the Ritz Carlton-Kapalua for three years, but during the hotel’s renovation, she show moved to the Napili Kai where it has remained for another three years. The show has produced 5 live CD compilations to date featuring different samplings of the artists. it has Showtime is 7:30 PM at the Aloha Pavilion. The concerts are similar to the ones enjoyed by thousands every year in the Mainland tours. Many of Hawaii’s best Slack Key guitarists perform there. The show is hosted by George Kahumoku, Jr., HAwaiia’s “Renaissance Man”, and each week there is a special guest artist. May through December, and 6 PM & 8:30 PM January through April.
