When I first met Sara Beth I quickly learned that everyone called her "mom",

discovering that underneath the sarcastic praise was an outstandingly mature young

woman. Sara is not only a moral compass for her peers, but also a strong friend

with an unrelenting sense of commitment. As one of the pastors at Hamilton Mill

United Methodist, I spend a lot of time with teenagers and work directly with her

every week. She consistently stands out, inspiring all of us to evaluate the caliber

of our work while still maintaining a positive attitude. This is an aspect of her

character that far supersedes her years and is one of the primary reasons she is an
