Microsoft Corporation

Re: David Beardsley

Manager: CAD/ Digital Design

To whom it may concern

Dear Whom,

Mr. David Beardsley was manager of CAD systems at Microsoft Corporation, and had responsibility for the

CAD library systems and technologies, individual CAD drafting technicians, and the workflow of the CAD

Design Team within Microsoft Hardware. This also included several “partner” relationships, as well as

managing the contracting and private vendors. David’s skills with people have allowed him to build teams

with extraordinary commitment and vision for their work, as well as genuine excellence in their drafting

skills.

My personal work with David was primarily around the support he needed in developing the PTC solution

into a world-wide platform, so that he could leverage drafting opportunities in China and Taiwan. His

methodical approach to sequencing the decisions, projects and programs required to integrate this

platform saved a significant amount of back-tracking to redo elements that would have been costly for

the company. Without damaging the trust required for healthy relationships with his employee’s, he

would meticulously help them groom their planning process to achieve the best value proposition for the

company, while allowing for appropriate intervals to rescope and re-prioritize fast moving design projects.

This agility, and flexibility, has proved invaluable in preventing unnecessary system investments without

reasonable cost justification.

I am confident that David is up to any senior team management opportunity that is placed in front of him.

Again, it is his vision for the management of people that is entirely without precedent in my experience.

He gets it done without the grinding, and losses associated with rapidly changing environments.

Carl Greninger | IT Manager – Devices Engineering Services - World Wide
