The University of Derby is a modern and friendlyuniversity located in central England, on theedge of the beautiful countryside of the PeakDistrict. An English language qualification equivalent toIELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 is required. Moduleexemptions may be given on an individual basis.

All applications will be treated individually, andthe University would wish to see some evidenceof relevant work experience and/or acommitment to the industry.

Holders of a Diploma or AdvancedDiploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts(7065) or Food and Beverage Service (7066) areeligible to apply for entry into HTA HospitalityManagement Diploma or HTA Double Diplomasin Events Management.

Upon successful completion of either of theabove HTA programmes, learners can claimcredits towards a Bachelor degree at JamesCook University, University of Queensland,Griffith University or Bond University.

Learners can claim 8 credits from HTAHospitality Management Diploma and need tocomplete four semesters to receive a Bachelordegree.

Learners can claim 12 credits for the HTA DoubleDiploma and need to complete three semestersto receive a Bachelor degree.

The Hospitality Training Association Inc (HTA) isone of the most respected and successfultraining providers and employers in Australiaand has assisted thousands of young peoplearound the world to establish careers inhospitality and tourism.

All of the full-time degree, foundation degreeand postgraduate courses lead to qualificationsawarded by the University of Birmingham withthe exception of UCB’s specialist BA(Hons)/FdAin Salon Management which is awarded by UCB.

The Advanced Diploma units will be reviewed on an individual basis for students who apply toJWU, and transfer credits (exemptions) towardcompletion of Bachelor degree subjects may begranted for units completed in the AdvancedDiploma program which are similar in content,level an duration to those in the intended JWUmajor.
