RECITAL INFORMATION AND D2D NEWSLETTER

Dear D2D parents,

We are approaching recital time at D2D and getting very excited for our big day. Each year the recital is a time to celebrate all of our hard work and accomplishments. It is a very positive and exciting time for us all. I promise, along with your help, to make all recitals at our studio a wonderful and fun experience for your dancers. To keep stress to a minimum during this busy time, we all must be informed and on the same page. Here is a list of all of upcoming events at D2D:

April 11 th - Individual pictures taken at Nicole Thomas Photography (sign up at D2D) for more information call; 847-729-4466April 18 th –Recital tickets for Shows I & II go on sale at 10:00 am at the North Shore Center for the Performing Artsbox office.April 19 th –Recital tickets for Show III go on sale at 10:00 am at the North Shore Center for the Performing Artsbox officeApril 18th - Individual pictures taken at Nicole Thomas Photography (sign up at D2D) April 19th - Individual pictures taken at Nicole Thomas Photography (sign up at D2D) May 2 nd - Dress Rehearsal at the North Shore Center for the Performing ArtsMay 3 rd - Dance Recital at the North Shore Center for the Performing ArtsShow I-11:00am Show II-2:00pm Show III-6:00pm. Dancers may begin to arrive 1 hour before performance begins.

RECITAL: “In the News”SUNDAY May 3rd at 11:00 am, 2:00 pm & 6:00 pm

North Shore Center for the Performing Arts9501 Skokie Blv. Skokie

The dancers may begin to arrive 1 hour before performance. We will begin the show precisely at show time. Please be in your seats on time. If you arrive late or need to leave early please use proper theater manners. DO NOT stand up or walk in or out during a dance. Please wait to enter and exit between numbers. Students are encouraged to stay for the entire performance. If you do need to take your child early, you may check him/her out with the Room Mother of the class.

The kids will be supervised back stage by a volunteer Room Mother. We will have activities to keep the children busy before and after their performance.

DRESS REHEARSAL: Saturday May 2 nd @ the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts (Rehearsal schedule will come home with your dancer.)

Dress rehearsal allows for your dancer to know exactly what will happen the day of the show. She/he will need to be in costume, tights (if needed), and correct dance shoes,

with hair and make-up done. The kids will also be able to see their assigned dressing room for the show. The teachers will go over staging and will run through the dance with the music, one to two times depending on what is necessary. Parents may take photos at this time. Please do not take pictures/video during the recital. Dancers are free to leave after they rehearse their dance. Individual photos: will be taken at Nicole Thomas Photography Saturday April 11 th ,18 th

and 19 th . Please sign up at D2D for your shoot time. You may have your picture taken in one or more costumes. Please see attached sheet for more information.

Ticket Sales: -All tickets are sold through the North Shore Center for the Performing Artsbox office.-Tickets will be sold starting April 18th & 19th until curtain of each performance.-Purchase at the box office, call (847)-673-6300 or online at www.northshorecenter.org*SEE NEXT SHEET*

Costumes: Please read accessory sheet that came home with your child’s costume. It will explain hair, tights, make-up, props, etc. Please make sure to label each piece (including shoes and tights) with your child’s full name.

Summer Classes: The summer schedule will go home with your dancer the week of 4/18

Fall Enrollment: The fall schedule will be available in May for students currently enrolled at D2D. I am opening my enrollment up to current D2D students first to ensure them a spot. We will open enrollment up to others beginning in June.

As most of you know, we work hard to get each child in the best class for them. As you will see at the show they have worked very hard and come a long way this year. Please respect our expertise as we place your children in class(es).
