Dr S. R Rajasthan Ayurved University , Jodhpur, is the first AYUSH

University in India, dealing with the academic, research & clinical

activities and propagating AYUSH activities, since last 14 years. The

PG Department of Shalya Tantra is going to organise Two Days

National Seminar/workshop on Recent advancements in Kshar karma

WSR to Ano Rectal Disorders.

I hope this seminar will be provide useful knowledge to co-operate

the ancient wisdom and modern scientific knowledge. My heartily

Introduction: Sushruta has mentioned different methods of management of

diseases, such as Bheshaja karma, Kshara karma, Agnikarma

Shastra karma and Raktamokshana. The approach of

Ksharkarma has been mentioned in the context of diseases.

Kshara karma has been explained as one among the

anushastras. Almost all ayurvedic classics have described the

use of ksha rkarma in curing different disorders. Kshar karma

does not allow the diseases to reoccur, once they are treated

by it.

Kshara karma (application of Pratisaraneeya kshara), It is a

non-surgical procedure of Ayurveda indicated for the

management for various diseases. A medicine (phyto alkali)

derived from a combination of various herbs is applied for

various unwanted growths. It is a type of chemical

cauterization. The superiority of kshara over sharp

instruments (sastras) and accessory sharp instruments

(anusastras) has been mentioned in Sushruta Samhita.

Alkaline preparations should be externally used in such skin

diseases like Psoriasis, Taeniasis, Vitiligo, Non-lepromatous

lesion, Fistula in ano, Tumor, Non-healing ulcer, Sinus,

Exfoliative dermatosis, Mole, Non-elevated mole, Localized

hyper pigmentation of skin, Nevus, Abscess and Hemorrhoid.

It is an ambulatory treatment modality and affordable to the

common man. Keeping these facts in the view the P.G.

Department of ShalyaTantra is going to organize Two Days

National Seminar/workshop on Recent advancements in

Kshar karma WSR to Ano rectal Disorders On 15th-

16thDecember 2017.
