HOUSE PROGRAM: ULTRASOUND FOR TRAUMA

The Hands-On Ultrasound Education Program delivers adaptive, innovative content customized to meet the learning needs of rural physicians. The low learner to instructor ratio (2:1) allows for personalized learning and scanning on live models ensures that each participant gains quality, hands-on practice time. The Ultrasound for Trauma module covers applications to expedite diagnosis and treatment of urgent or life-threatening conditions, including knobology, eFAST, subxyphoid view, pneumothorax, lung point, long bone fractures, and vascular access. Course is accredited for 7.0 Mainpro-C and MOC Section 1 credits.

JUNE 11 0830-1700 Max 16 participants Location: Prince George

PHYSICIAN $1,300 RESIDENT $850

Participants must register for at least one day of the RECC conference in order to sign up for The Shock Course or The HOUSE Program.

HOUSE INTENSIVE: ULTRASOUND FOR ABDOMINAL PAIN

The session will include FAST, gallbladder and hydronephrosis. For those who have not mastered the FAST exam, this intensive will o9er lots of hands-on scanning time and is expected to markedly improve scanning competency. Those already competent with the FAST exam can learn POCUS for gallbladder and/or hydronephrosis, two applications that are very useful in the ER.

Max 16 participants

COST $125

HOUSE INTENSIVE: ULTRASOUND FOR ECTOPIC PREGNANCY

The ability to identify an intra-uterine pregnancy, and thus rule out ectopic pregnancy, is a GAMECHANGER for rural physicians faced with an unstable female patient with abdominal pain. This limited first trimester POCUS exam has been shown to significantly decrease the time to diagnosis and definitive treatment of ectopic pregnancy. The two hour intensive will focus on the transabdominal approach, with some exposure to the transvaginal scanning technique as well.

Max 16 participants

COST $125

HOUSE INTENSIVE: ULTRASOUND FOR VASCULAR ACCESS

Does the idea of inserting a central line make you sweat? It is very easy to learn how to locate the ideal insertion site for a central or peripheral vein catheter, and watch the needle go into the vein in real time, confirming placement. POCUS for vascular access turns a nerve wracking procedure into one performed with confidence and fewer complications.
