Under Chapter 30 and 33 you are allowed a total of 36 months combined. Any two programs a veteran qualifies for can be combined for a total of 48 months. Active Duty Personnel and Student going to school lessthan half time will only be paid Tuition and Fees paid. Payment will vary by each state and school and length of service. I f veteran converts to Chapter 33 and uses all remaining months of entitlement transferred,they will receive a refund of initial $1200 contributed. Any amount of Chapter 30 used subtracts about $33 a month from refund. Education Benefits can be used for Institutional Training (College, Vocational orTrade School), Apprenticeship and On-Job Training, Correspondence and Flight, Cooperative Training.
* Based on the Basic Housing Allowance, (BHA) for an E -5 With Dependents of the Zip Code of the school student is attending.** Yellow Ribbon Program. VA may be able to pay above the maximum In State Tuition and Fee for an Under Graduate program if the private school is willing to pay
