Reber Enterprise and History
• In 1865 Peter Reber opened his first Confectionery-Cafe in Munich. In the beginning of his carrier, the focus was – at that time - on new, colonial-exotic pleasures such as noble chocolates and other chocolate compositions.
• In the course of time, Peter Reber and his co-workers created many noble chocolates and delicious chocolate delights. The creation being most connected to his master-confectionery is the Mozart-Kugel– an expression of high-class confectionery art and at the same time showing appreciation towards the famous musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
• Was it a premonition regarding the Mozart-Kugel, or the conclusion that the well-known Health Resort Bad Reichenhall, located close to Salzburg would suit the REBER SPECIALTIES very well? Nobody knows for sure. Fact is, the enterprise moved to Bad Reichenhall in 1938, where it has been family owned until today with the fifth generation
• The Mozart Kugel, now called “Genuine Reber Mozart-Kugel®” is produced according to a traditional, unchanged recipe. A “genuine” classic, being the reason for the worldwide reputation of the family enterprise along with the lovingly designed, exclusive packaging in distinctive Reber-red.

W. A. Mozart - the musical geniusAt the age of three years, he began to play the piano, with four years he played the violin, and when he was five, he gave his first public concert.
He had an absolute pitch. As a four year old boy he could already hear if his violin was out-of-tune by a quarter note.
At the age of twelve, Mozart composed three operas, six symphony`s and hundreds of other works.

…After Mozart’s early death in 1791, Constanze, his wife, was confronted with financial miseries and worries regarding her two sons Carl Thomas and Franz Xaver. In order to make a living for herself and the two children, the educated singer resumed her own profession and gave concerts in Wien, Leipzig, Dresden, Graz and Prag.
Later on she worked on a Mozart-biography together with her second husband Georg Nicolausvon Nissen and finished and published it after his death.
It is due to Constanze, that Mozart’s musical heritage could be retained for future
generations.
