REBATE—DIVIDEND Directors are happy to announce that a 2.0% rebate on members trading from the 1st April 2011 to 31st March 2012 and a 5% dividend on shareholding will be credited to members accounts this month and will appear on your June TAFCO Statement. Trading has been very successful with turnover remaining over $3million for 2011-2012 The Board have accepted over 30 new membership applications this year and would like to welcome new members in joining the Co-operative and sharing the profit distribution. Directors have been reserved in their determination of this years rebate. A conservative distribution of this years profits will enable a number of initiatives to strengthen & secure the ongoing sustainability of the business. Directors are committed to implementing initiatives which can grow the business and benefit members . A balance has been struck between returning profits to members and re-investing in the business.” The recent acquisition of Murray Goulburn Trading in Myrtleford is the catalyst for new investment in the TAFCO business and infrastructure. Investing through a range of initiatives is seen as critical by the board. Securing our ongoing partnership with Phil Ash and Myrtleford (Elders) Insurance Agency through increasing office space, upgrading of the truck to provide a more efficient regional delivery service and the installation of pallet racking are just some of the ventures the Board are looking at implementing in the future. BOARD POLICIES In 2009 the TAFCO Board increased our overdue account fee from 12% to 18%. The co-operative is not a bank and will be introducing stricter trading rules. Accounts will no longer be able to operate if they reach 60 day terms. With a wider shareholder base it is critical that there are no extended trading terms unless by prior arrangement with management. AGVET CHEMICAL REFRESHER course Thursday 9th August 2012 Myrtleford Savoy Sporting Club 9.00a.m – 5.00p.m $185* includes manual and lunch Legislation requires workplace managers (including owner-operators) to meet specific obligations if they transport, store or use hazardous substances. This course provides the required information and all the tools necessary to comply with the regulations and to make sure the workplace is safe. This course is also recognised as an ‘update’ or ‘Refresher’ program for the AgVet Chemical Users Course. This course provides checklists for participants to use in establishing their own Risk Management programs. A refresher course needs to be undertaken by people wanting to keep their Agvet Chemical User Certificates current. Certificates are current for 5 years – there is no legal requirement to keep your certificate current, but considering the constant changes to legislation and your obligation as farmers to some how keep up with it all – a refresher every five years is probably not a bad idea….If your not sure whether you are due to undertake a refresher then it’s probably time to book in, but you can check with Chemcert (03) 5622 2055 the date of your last course. Book courses by phoning TAFCO on 03-5752 1800
