RealPresence Media Suite 2.5 includes the features and functionality of previous releases and includes

the following new features:

Basic Features:

● Support automatic offline transcoding for UGC media file.

● Support for time zone display when create a live event.

● Support Closed Caption.

● Optimize the UI on mobile device.

● Support for Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA).

● Keep the live streaming smooth when network status is worse. Effective only when Polycom RealPresence Media Suite player is used.

● New system alerts on the main admin page.

Pro Features:

● Support for documents upload to or download from archive.

● Support for defining customized offline transcoding profile for media generated by UGC or Media Editor.

● Support for start live event automatically.

● Easy Capture enhancement.

● Support to reconnect the failed call during live event.

● Support CloudFront CDN.

Platinum Features:

● Support for moderated Q&A in Live Event.

Other Features:

● Support for deploying RealPresence Media Suite on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

License Control

Starting with RealPresence Media Suite version 2.0, RealPresence Media Suite has introduced new

license types. All current users of Capture Server 1.x who upgrade to RealPresence Media Suite 2.0+ are

entitled to the basic license. A Pro License and Platinum license can be added to provide additional

functionality. Based on the size of deployment, a Scalability Mode license may also be available.

Note: You need a new license key after upgrading to v2.5

Before upgrade the system from v2.1 to v2.5, you need a new license key of v2.5 to active the system. For RealPresence Media Suite VE edition, when you upgrade the system to v2.5, system will use default 6/3 trial license before you active the new license key.

RealPresence Media Suite 2.5 systems are tested extensively with a wide range of products. The

Video conferencing systems use a variety of algorithms to compress audio and video. In a call between

two systems, each end transmits audio and video using algorithms supported by the other end. In

some cases, a system may transmit a different algorithm than it receives. This process occurs

because each system independently selects the optimum algorithms for a particular call, and different

products may make different selections. This process should not affect the quality of the call.

The menu for controlling the playback are as follows:

fast forward: *6

Installation and Upgrade Notes

Caution: All configuration files must be backed up before upgrade

Make sure all configuration files are backed up before upgrade.

RealPresence Media Suite 2.5 supports the following upgrade path:

● v1.6 > v1.7HF > v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.5

● v1.6.1 > v1.7HF > v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.5

● v1.7 > v1.7HF > v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.5

● v1.8 > v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.5

● v2.0 > v2.1 > v2.5

● v2.1 > v2.5

RealPresence Media Suite 2.0 makes significant optimization for system structure and database, so v1.x

cannot upgrade to v2.5 directly. The customer will have to upgrade to each version in order to get to v2.5.

After upgrading to v2.5, the administrator is required to change the default console password when log

into the admin portal. Please log into the system through SSH (default console user name and password

are polycom\polycom) and set a new console password.

The backup configuration files can only be used by the version it was backed up on. So version 2.1

configuration back up file can only be used on a Version 2.1 system. Once the system is upgraded,

backup the configuration file.

reboots automatically.

UGC 8499 2.5 User cannot upload a media file after a recording is started and there is

no archive in My Media Center.

User Portal 7451 2.5 Cannot log out from the User Portal on the phone platform.

User Portal 8131 2.5 User Portal does not support multicast streaming playing.

User Portal 8410 2.5 UI display errors occur after changing the language in IE 9.

User Portal 9694 2.5 If user has logged into the User Portal by IE, and clicks the User Portal

link in the notification E-mail, user needs to log into the system again.

User Portal 9722 2.5 Grant Permission AD users are not backed up when do system

configuration backup.

User Portal 9771 2.5 When follow the instructions from player window to enable Native Client,

type about:flags in Address Bar may not redirect to chrome://flags page

but a search result page.

DSP 9683 2.5 The overlay texts overlap each other when meets the following items:

1. Appliance Edition with DSP

2. People + Content video

3. Video content does not fill the whole screen

4. Overlay text is total or partial in the black background

5. More than one overlay texts are added to the video
