• Founded in 2008, our early successes include a community food growing project, a cycle route project and the retrofitting of two homes under the SuperHomes scheme

• We have an Energy Group and a Projects Group, that focusses on Social Innovation

2011 and is a CSA project• Employs a grower a part-

Farnham Repair Café www.facebook.com/FarnhamRepairCafe

• In collaboration with The Centre for Sustainable Design®

• Provides a social hub for the free exchange of know-how and fixing skills for broken stuff

• 7 repair stations; 18 active volunteers in electricals, electronics, mechanicals, bikes, textiles and furniture

• Plus Creative Upcycling of broken stuff to challenge “throw away” behaviour

• 2nd Sat of each month at Farnham URC – Come and get fixed!

Farnham Hoppershttps://farnhamhoppers.wordpress.com/

• Started 2013: a “beer growing” scheme with 90 garden sites around town, most with 2 – 4 hop plants

• Hops harvested collectively in September, sent to micro-brewery LBC in Guildford and used green

• First Green Beerfest in November 2014, 2000 litres brewed. Hoppers get free beer

• Hope to build community scale drying kiln and establish a mini hop ground: at UCA ?

• FH meet regularly at The Jolly Sailor, West St, third Wednesday of month

• An off-road cycling network around Farnham

• Northern route - Scholars Way completed southern route – Weyside proposed

• Need to create a “bike bank” from recycled bikes, with free repairs at Farnham Repair Cafe

• If available on cheap loans scheme would UCA students be interested?

Farnham Eco-cinema • New proposal at concept

development stage, stakeholder interest, looks feasible

• To show documentary films and more experimental screenings with discussion session

• Offer of 70 seat venue in town with cafe, similat business model to Transition Chichester

• UCA offer of retired AV equipment, funds from BFI Neighbourhood Cinema scheme

• Link with UCA film club• What do you think?
